WCESC bans e-cigarettes; treasurer honored with Auditor of State Award

The Wood County Educational Service Center has banned e-cigarettes from its building and grounds.
The board gave the second reading to the new policy at its April meeting.
The policy prohibits the use of electronic cigarettes in all ESC-owned, leased or contracted buildings
and vehicles. The e-cigarettes may be used in designated outdoor smoking areas.
E-cigarettes, battery-charged devices shaped like cigarettes or cigars, have a heating element that
vaporizes a liquid nicotine solution, which the users, or "vapers," inhale into their lungs
and then puff, producing an odorless water vapor that e-cigarette advocates say is harmless to
bystanders.
Also, Treasurer Gina Fernbaugh has been presented a certificate from the Ohio Auditor’s Office for
returning a clear audit.
Fernbaugh received an Auditor of State Award, which is presented to less than 10 percent of school
districts statewide.
Fernbaugh thanked the governing board and fiscal staff.
"Without all of your help, I don’t think this could be possible."
