Bowling Green High School
The Exchange Club Student of the Month at Bowling Green High School for April is Grace Easterly.
Her primary activities have been in music and drama. She is the current president of the drama club and
has appeared in three musicals, including "Aida," "Willy Wonka" and last spring’s
"Beauty and the Beast."
Her leadership and involvement in drama has earned her the title of Honor Thespian.
Earlier this year, Easterly appeared in the All Ohio Production of "Rent the Musical," playing
the role of Maureen. Also, this past year she was in the cast the high school production of
"Anatomy of Gray."
In music she both sings and plays an instrument. She has sung with the OMEA All-State Choir and the All
National Choir. She also sings with the Madrigals, plays the clarinet, and is a member of both the
symphonic and marching bands.
She has been elected to membership in both the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society and
has received a Teacher’s Award from the American Association of Teachers of French. She is the president
of the French club.
Easterly is also active in her church youth group and is a Youth Group Leader.
She currently maintains a 4.27 gpa.
Next year she is planning to travel to Nepal and West Africa and do volunteer work. After that she will
be attending New York University.
BG High School/Penta
Lena Gilbert has been named the Bowling Green High School/Penta Career Center Student of the Month for
April.
She is a member of the public safety/criminal justice program at Penta and plans to become a military
police officer in the United States Army. After the Army, she plans to attend Findlay University and
major in equine studies and criminal justice. Ultimately she would like to be a police officer.
The senior competes in barrel racing, cares for numerous horses, and is a member of 4-H.
She has received several awards including Star Camper at Camp Indogan in Angola, Indiana. She has also
volunteered with the Dear Santa Society, Toledo Walk for PKD, Apple Butter Festival, Parent Night at
Penta Career Center, Roche de Boeuf Festival and Cops and Kids Day.
Gilbert earned a Gold Volunteer Service Award.
She is active in the Bowling Green Church of Christ Youth Group.
