Elmwood High School
Lorne Strausbaugh was named the April Student of the Month at Elmwood, while Jessica Murlin earned the honor in May.
Strausbaugh is the son of Dale and Joan Strausbaugh, Fostoria.
He is vice president of National Honor Roll as has been named Student of the Year in ag education I, II and III.
He's a four-year letter winner is cross country and track and served as captain of both teams. He has won numerous regional and district awards in both sports.
Strausbaugh also participates in student council, art club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is president of the FFA chapter.
He is president of the Perry Go-Getters 4-H club and participates in the youth group of Christ's Church in Bowling Green.
He plans to attend Malone University and run cross country and track, and double major in pre-med and exercise physiology with the goal of becoming an orthopedic doctor.
Murlin is the daughter of Kris and Donna Murlin, Bloomdale.
The senior is treasurer of National Honor Society and has a 4.0 grade point average.
She's been named Spanish Student of the Year, Computer Application Student of the Year, and Art I Student of the Year.
She has participated in cross country for four years and was team captain this year.
Murlin plans to go into the U.S. Air Force upon graduation.

Otsego High School
Otsego High School has named Ryan Smoyer as its senior Student of the Month for March.
Also honored were junior Dave Heckler, sophomore Logan Beardsley and freshman Raven Barrera.
Smoyer is the son of Duane and Karen Smoyer, Bowling Green. He is a four-year member of varsity football, basketball and baseball and has earned honors in all three sports.
He also has participates in National Honor Society, swing choir, chorale, Knightmusik, student council and men's choir.
The senior also has served as a flag football coach and has been inducted into the National Football Foundation.
He plans to attend the University of Notre Dame but is undecided on his major. He also hopes to play baseball for the Fighting Irish.
Heckler is the son of Steven and Susan Heckler, Haskins.
He is a three-year member of student council and has helped with morning announcements for two years.
He also has participated in National Honor Society, jazz band and the school musical.
He's a member of the Cedar Creek Church band.
Beardsley is the son of John and Angie Beardsley, Bowling Green.
He has participated in football, basketball, track and band for two years, his youth group for four years, Boy Scouts for 11 years and town baseball for nine years.
He's taken two mission trips, to South Dakota and Philadelphia and is a Scout leader.
Barrera is the daughter of Joe and Holly Barrera, Napoleon.
She is participating in cheerleading this year and is serving as an Upward cheerleading coach this year.
She also has helped as a preschool lunch aide and Sunday school teacher.
