Matt Mazur

Penta Career Center
Matt Mazur and Elise Brown have been named the Career-Technical Student of the Month for February and
March, respectively, by the Perrysburg Kiwanis Club.
Mazur, a senior from Rossford High School, is enrolled in the Construction Electricity program at Penta.

Throughout his high school experience, he has been active in extra-curricular activities, volunteering
and working. At Rossford High School, Mazur has been a member of the baseball team and has participated
in varsity choir. At Penta, he has been an honor roll student and is involved in SkillsUSA, a
career-technical student leadership organization.
Through his involvement with SkillsUSA, he won the local competition in the Residential Wiring contest.
At the Regional SkillsUSA competition, he placed fourth in the same contest.
Mazur has volunteered the past two years for the Operation Breadbasket, a food and clothing drive through
the Perrysburg Township Fire Department. During this activity he helped sort and pack food and clothing
for needy families.
He is employed at the Kingston Residence of Perrysburg as a dietary assistant.
After graduation from Rossford High School and completing the Construction Electricity program at Penta,
he plans to pursue residential apprenticeship training through the Toledo Electrical Joint
Apprenticeship and Training Committee.

Elise Brown

Brown, a senior from Rossford High School, is enrolled in the Small Animal Care program at Penta.
She has been involved in many activities during high school.
At Rossford, she was a member of the varsity tennis team and also was a member of the soccer team. At
Penta, she has been on the honor roll and is a member of FFA, a career-technical student leadership
organization for students in agriculture programs. She also serves as a lab assistant in the Small
Animal Care classroom and helps her teacher with the junior class of students in the program. She serves
as a Penta Ambassador where she gives tours for prospective students and has assisted with Penta’s
annual Career Night event. She has also volunteered for Penta’s annual Ag Day by providing dog grooming
services to pets brought in by guests.
Brown is currently employed at Fat Fish Blue.
After she graduates from Rossford and completes the Small Animal Care program at Penta, she plans to
enroll in the veterinary technician program at Greenville Technical College in South Carolina to earn a
two-year degree in veterinary technology.
