ROSSFORD - Rossford High School's Theatre Department will present "State Fair" this weekend in the high school auditorium.
Based on the classic 1945 Academy Award winning film of the same name, "State Fair" features a popular Rodgers and Hammerstein score including songs like "It's A Grand Night For Singing," "It Might As Well Be Spring" and "That's For Me" among others.
In late August 1946, the Frake family travels to the Iowa State Fair for three days of adventure and romance. Ma and Pa have hopes of winning blue ribbons for their prizewinning mincemeat pie and pet boar, Blue Boy, respectively.
Their daughter and son, Margy and Wayne, look for romance amongst the thrill and twinkling lights of the midway.
Pa Frake will be played by Nolan Duly while Ma Frake is played by Rori Coyle.
Wayne will be portrayed by Tony Carlen and Margy will be played by Sarah Gerren.
Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday and 2 p.m.
A RHS drama alumni reunion will be held at the Saturday performance.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for students.
Julie Zatko is directing the production.
