St. Louis celebrates Catholic Schools Week

CUSTAR – St. Louis Catholic School is celebrating Catholic Schools Week.
Students are asked to wear their St. Louis sweatshirts or T-shirts on Sunday for Mass, as well as
throughout the entire week.
This year, the parish will celebrate its 150th birthday.
Events and daily themes scheduled through the week include:
Sunday: Faith, Knowledge and Service In Our Parish. Mass 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Students will hand out a
"thank you" to the parish at Mass for their support of St. Louis School. Open House 10:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Religion fair projects, created by K-6 grade students, will be on exhibit. Country
Breakfast 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with all proceeds going toward the annual School Fund Drive.
Monday: Faith, Knowledge and Service In Our Community. Each classroom will make "thank you"
cards for the Milton Twp. Fire Department, Weston EMS and Wood County Sheriff. Students grades pre/K-6
will take a field trip to Oak Grove Health Care Center in Deshler, where they will sing some of their
favorite songs from music class. Students will collect items to make "Birthday Bags." Each
classroom is going to collect items like cake mixes, frosting, and plates.
Tuesday: Faith, Knowledge and Service In Our Nation. Students are asked to wear red, white and blue. At 1
p.m. students will gather at church to have a prayer service to celebrate life (National Right to Life)
of the born and unborn. At the conclusion of the service, the church bells will toll in celebration of
life.
Wednesday: Knowledge and Service In Our Students. Students grades pre/K-6 will take a field trip to
Deshler Lanes for a morning of bowling and pizza lunch.
Thursday: Faith, Knowledge and Service In Our Vocations. Students will make a birthday card for Fr. Dave
Tscherne and also thank him for his service to our school. Newly ordained Fr. Jeff Walker, also a former
St. Louis School student, will be available via Skype all the way from Rome. Students will get to chat
with Fr. Jeff about his new life as a priest and what led him to the vocation of Holy Orders.
Friday: Faith, Knowledge and Service in our Staff and Volunteers. There will be a Subway lunch for staff,
students and volunteers, served by the staff members. Students will enjoy cake and punch celebrating the
150th birthday of St. Louis Parish. All are welcome to join us after the 9:15 a.m. school Mass for the
special treat. WNDH 103.1 Napoleon radio station will be live from school beginning at 10:20, 10:45,
11:15 and 11:40.
