Penta students recognized at national conference

PENTA – Several local Penta Career Center students were recognized at the SkillsUSA National Leadership
& Skills Conference held June 23-27 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The following Culinary Arts students earned fifth place as a team in the Entrepreneurship contest and
they include: Brandi Alderman (Otsego), Alexis Bailey (Maumee) and Nicole Lambert (Bowling Green), and
Jeremy Likes (Lake).
Also recognized at the national conference were four seniors from Penta’s Public Safety programs who
earned individual gold awards for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
One of the students was Evan Deniston (Eastwood). The President’s Volunteer Service Award was presented
to these students because they volunteered at least 250 hours to community service projects over the
course of one year.
Penta’s Public Safety senior class also was a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award in the
category for Families and Groups. Together as a senior class, they volunteered over 1,000 hours to
community service activities during a 12-month period.
