TONTOGANY - Otsego High School has a new principal.
Kevin O'Shea was approved as the school's new head last month.
O'Shea holds a bachelor's degree from Defiance College and a master's degree in educational administration and supervision from Bowling Green State University. Previous to this position, he was employed as a teacher leader since 2005 at Springfield Local Schools.
While there, he implemented a data collection program to boost the school's academic achievement and test scores, and was part of a team that took Springfield from being an "effective" ranked district to one ranked "excellent with distinction."
The district additionally hired Lori Rea as its new curriculum and technology integration director.
Rea has been a teacher since 1999, first at Woodward High School, and then at Rogers High School. While with Rogers she also served that district as a technology and data coach.
"I am very excited for Kevin and Lori to join our Otsego team," said Superintendent Adam Koch. "Kevin is a high-energy leader, who brings a reputation of integrity and strong instructional leadership qualities with him. Lori will provide an immediate positive impact on our students and staff. She has tremendous passion and work ethic for education. Her position will allow her to have a positive impact on all our students at Otsego."
