Otsego High School names Gonyer student of the month

Alexis Gonyer was named the December Student of the Month at Otsego High School.
Also honored were junior Josh Horseman, sophomore Brianna Meier and freshman Krystal Thomas.
Gonyer is active in marching, concert and pep band, and also has participated in National Honor Society,
book and media club, Teen Institute and FFA.
She earned her Greenhand Degree in 2011 and State Degree in 2012, in FFA.
She has been a member of Sonlight youth group for four years and was a delegate last summer to Buckeye
Girls State.
She is ranked 22nd in the senior class and has a 3.8 gpa.
The daughter of John and Lori Gonyer, Weston, the senior plans to attend the University of Findlay to
study pre-veterinary medicine and eventually run a veterinary clinic and a birds of prey rehab center
out West.
Horseman is the son of Jeff and Sheila Horseman, Tontogany.
He plays soccer, basketball and baseball for the Knights, and also participates in swing choir, chorale,
men’s choir and the school musical. He is captain of this year’s soccer team and has earned all-league
honors two years straight.
Meier participates in junior varsity volleyball and basketball, and varsity track. She is also a member
of women’s choir, chorale, concert choir and the school musical.
She has played Latitude 41 volleyball for three years and has participated in Young Life for two years.

She’s the daughter of Greg and Marsha Meier, Haskins.
Thomas participates in band and cross country, and is a member of Tontogany 4-Leaf Clovers 4-H club and
the youth group at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
She’s the daughter of Glenn and Michele Thomas, Weston.
