Maumee Valley Country Day School will celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Dayal House on May 24
The $1.6 million residence facility is the school's first on-campus housing facility for boarding students in grades 9-12.
The facility will provide on-campus housing for 28 students beginning this fall.
The new residence hall is made possible through a generous donation from the Dayal family, and boarding fees that will be charged to students living in the facility.
Rudolph/Libbe Inc., of Walbridge, served as the design/build contractor and the Collaborative, based in Toledo, , was the architect for the project.
Currently 56 Upper School (high school) students from outside the Toledo area attend the school. An additional 27 International Upper School students live with host families around the city.
"We are seeing increases in the number of students who live outside Toledo, and in many cases, outside the United States," said Head of School Gary Boehm.
Tours of the new Dayal House will be open to the public during that afternoon from 2:30 to 4:30.
