Montessori gala benefits student programming

The Montessori School of Bowling Green hosted its annual Gala at Nazareth Hall on Feb. 26. This year, the
event benefitted the school’s quality enrichment programming including art, music, Spanish and physical
education.
The gala included two silent auctions and a live auction with Mike Adler. Jeff Halsey and his jazz band
provided entertainment. With a full-course dinner and on-site childcare, the event exceeded the
attendance for the past several years.
With more than 100 auction items, the event raised well over $10,600. Some of the auction items included
Kalahari Resort and Great Wolf Lodge suites; tickets to sporting events such as the Cleveland Browns,
Cleveland Indians, Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye; original and handmade jewelry and artwork;
tickets to the Toledo Symphony and BGSU Musical Arts programming; and a large number of gift
certificates and collectibles from local artists and downtown Bowling Green businesses.
"The gala was a wonderful event for a great cause enabling MSBG to be able to provide quality
enrichment programming to our students. The Bowling Green area community continues to amaze me with how
generous and supportive they are," stated MSBG board member Kristin Otley. The event was sponsored
by Business Networking International, Evans Home Loans, Greenbriar Inc., and Newlove Realty as well as
families who bought entire tables for the event.
The black and silver "Celebrate Our Stars" theme highlighted the wide array of enrichment
activities at the school. Several speakers, including Rodney Rogers, Barb Wilhelm, Otley, Cindy
Brechmacher and Bev Bechstein spoke to the quality of education, exceptional faculty, and innovative
learning environment that the school offers.
The Montessori School of Bowling Green enrolls children ages 3 through the sixth grade. Open enrollment
begins at the end of March. For more information, call (419) 352-4203.
