MILLBURY - Lake High School will be holding its annual fall play next week.
The title of the play is "Dr. Evil and the Basket of Kittens," a farcical, fun, and family-oriented live play including Dr. Frankenstein, a famous author, a hunch-back, vampires, were-hyenas, and a witch.
Show times are Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium
Tickets are sold general admission for $3 for students under 18, $5 for adults, and $3 for seniors 60 years old and over.
This darkly funny farce pits the eternal battle of pure evil against innocent fuzzy goodness.
Dr. Evil wants to destroy the world, but when a basket of kittens arrives on his doorstep, it's his own world that gets turned upside down.
The Council of Evil is set to arrive any minute for the unveiling of the thermal ray - Dr. Evil's latest weapon of world domination - and he must impress them at all costs. If the Council finds him with this basketful of precious kittens, they may never offer the financial backing he needs to complete his dastardly project.
Being truly evil, there is only one solution that Dr. Evil can think of - the kittens must be destroyed.  But with several identical baskets going in and out of his lab and the crazy antics of his assistant's mummified mother, his own vampire mother and the practical-joke-loving family of were-hyenas who live next door, the kittens just may make it out alive.
Dr. Evil's neighbors, Mary Shelley and Dr. Frankenstein, narrate the evil tale.
The cast includes Jessica Orth as Mary Shelley, Parker Lake as Dr. Frankenstein, Vanessa Warton as Frank Jr., and Ryan Walsh as Dr. Evil.
Also appearing are Autumn Walker as Shirley, Eryn Mahaffey as Inferna, Emily Ervin as Margo, Ian Harrison as Unna Were, Lauren Mangold as Sylva Were, Rashelle Flores as Countess Gothma, David Hanely as Pierce, Kelsey Beaver as the weather reporter, Kalyn Swihart as Mummy, Angel Atkin as Annie Were, Ted Swartz as Lord Warhammer, Meghan Veeley as Archduchess Arsenica, Jake Momany as Prince Vladi, Maddy Eye as Bomb, Michaela Hill as Momma Cher Were, Grant Blackburn as Papa Tuppa Were, Alyx Fisher as the child, and Tonya Veselka as the mother.
The understudies are played by Kyla Beecham, Faith Rowe and Destiny Smith; and the kittens are Andrew "Goldchins" Thomas.
