Grant to subsidize internships at BGSU

The Ohio Legislature has appropriated funding to Ohio colleges and universities to increase internships
and co-ops with the goal of retaining more workers in Ohio.
Bowling Green State University, for example, will use its grant funding to subsidize employers up to 50
percent of wages and benefits for each new intern/co-op hired.
The goal is to help area employers reduce the cost in recruiting, training, and retaining talent.
Targeted JobsOhio industry areas include: Aerospace & Aviation, Automotive, Financial Services,
BioHealth, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Food Processing, Polymers and Chemicals, Information
Technology and Services.

Additionally, any students who may be interested in an internship or co-op, should contact their college
or university career center for more information. The program at BGSU is entitled the Falcon Internship
Guarantee. BGSU guarantees students who complete the Falcon Internship Preparation Program, and meet the
identified criteria, the opportunity to participate in an internship or other experiential learning
activity during their undergraduate career.
