Two area colleges will offer free financial aid help on Sunday.
Area residents interested in acquiring additional information about financial aid are encouraged to participate in a free workshop where financial aid representatives from colleges and universities throughout Northwest Ohio will provide insight on securing federal and state assistance to any academic institution of higher learning.
The program, known as Ohio College Goal Sunday 2014, will be held at Owens Community College and at Terra Community College in Fremont, both at 2 p.m.
Presented by the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administra-tors, the state-sponsored event will focus on helping students complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application as well as answer financial aid specific questions. The FAFSA is the federal application that is required to receive federal financial aid including the Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as the need-based state grants.
Families should register prior to the event by accessing the website at www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org or 1-800-233-6734.
For more information on the Owens event, call 567-661-7378 or 1-800-GO-OWENS, Ext. 7378.
For Terra, call 419-559-2126.
