Kenwood artwork given away
Former students of Kenwood Elementary who had art framed on the hallway walls or in the library can pick
their art up at the school anytime until the end of the school year.
Some of the artwork dates back decades.
Way Library offers May programs for homeschoolers
PERRYSBURG – Book Talk will take place on Monday at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. "How to Eat Fried
Worms" by Thomas Rockwell will be discussed. The humorous book tells the story of a boy who is
challenged to eat 15 worms in 15 days. Books are available at the youth desk.
Mad Scientists’ Club will be held on May 19 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. The topic is rocketry and how
Newton’s Third Law of Motion pertains to that. Youngsters will make several types of rockets. Online
registration is required.

Otsego hosts spring chorale concert
TONTOGANY – Otsego High School will hold its spring chorale concert Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Performing
Arts Center.
The Concert Choir, the Men’s Choir, the Women’s Choir, the Otsego Chorale, the Swing Choir,
"Knightmusik", the Men’s Octet and Women’s Octet will perform.
The concert will be conducted by Bowling Green State University student teacher Clay Thomson and high
school director Janine Baughman. Rene Ackerman will accompany.
The choirs will perform songs from the 1930s and the 1960s, tunes from Broadway shows, and selected
choral greats.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Eastwood holds art/tech show
PEMBERVILLE – Eastwood Local Schools’ annual District Art and Technology Show will open Thursday with a
reception from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The show will be held in the high school gymnasium.
It also will be open Friday during school hours to 5 p.m. and May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m.
District-wide artwork and technology-based projects will be on display.
During the reception, art students and art club members will be dressed as famous works of art and art
styles.
Also, middle school art students have created interactive works of art which will allow visitors to
become part of the artwork.
Otsego Elementary PTO plans annual auction
TONTOGANY – Otsego Elementary’s PTO will hold its annual auction to raise money for the school on Friday.
The auction will start at 7 p.m. in the elementary school Commons. Items are up for auction this year
include glass mosaic windows and tables made by the students, a one-year lease on a new Nissan Altima
donated by Thayer family dealerships, and offers from Cedar Point, Great Wolf Lodge, Brandywine Country
Club and Comerica Park.
U.S. News & Report honors Perrysburg High School
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg High School earned a silver medal from U.S. News & World Report for
ranking as number 63 in the state.
The high school was also rated overall in the United States at 1,340.
"This award is a testament to the great educators and students in Perrysburg Schools, from
kindergarten to 12th grade," said Principal Michael P. Short. "At graduation, we see the
culmination of 13 years of rigorous and compassionate education. We are very proud of the team we have
here as well as our students’ performance."
Penta donates 600 pairs of shoes to Soles4Soul
PERRYSBURG – During the month of February and part of the month of March, students and staff at Penta
Career Center donated 600 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls, a global not-for-profit institution that
collects new and used shoes and then distributes them to people in need, both in the United States and
overseas.
Organized by Penta’s Student Leadership Team and the National Technical Honor Society, the drive involved
a contest among the academic and career-technical classes.
