Owens musical plays for two weeks
Owens Community College Fine and Performing Arts presents “The Great American Trailer Park Musical,” the
story of a new tenant at Armadillo Acres – and she’s wreaking havoc all over Florida’s most exclusive
trailer park.
When Pippi, the stripper on the run, comes between the Dr. Phil-loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her
tollbooth collector husband, the storms begin to brew.
Performances will be tonight and April 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday and April 13 at 3 p.m. in the
Center for Fine and Performing Arts Mainstage Theatre.
Admission is $12 for general public and $8 for Owens faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Deniston bee semi-finalist
David Deniston, a seventh-grader at Eastwood Middle School, headed to Columbus Friday to compete in the
2014 Ohio State Geographic Bee.
It was not known by press time how he finished. He is the son of Alun and Carol Deniston.
This competition is the second level. Deniston, his school winner in the bee competition, took a
qualifying test, which was submitted to the National Geographic Bee.
The society invited students with the top 100 scores in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia,
Department of Defence Dependent Schools, and the U.S. territories to compete at the state level.
The state winner receives $100 and trip to Washington, D.C., to represent Ohio in the National Geographic
Bee in May. The national winner will receive a $50,000 college scholarship and travel, all expenses
paid, to the Galapagos Islands.
