Tickets for Otsego’s ‘Children of Eden’ on sale
TONTOGANY – Tickets for Otsego High School’s "Children of Eden" will go on sale Monday from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school office.
Tickets for adults are $10 and for students and senior citizens $8.
Show dates are March 20-22 at 7 p.m. and March 23 at 3 p.m. in the Otsego Performing Arts Center.
Lakota reschedules meeting
The Lakota Board of Education has rescheduled its regular monthly meeting.
The meeting will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the staff dining room.
The meeting had previously been set for Monday.
Library hosts workshop on Every Child Ready to Read
The Children’s Place of the Wood County District Public Library is offering another monthly early
literacy workshop for parents and caregivers on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Every Child Ready to Read is designed to help adults discover new and interesting ways to nurture reading
readiness. Young children are welcome to attend with adults, but it is not necessary. Every family will
select a gift book to take home.

Programs for homeschooled students at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – Way Library continues to offer programs specifically for homeschooled boys and girls.
Book Talk is taking place on March 17 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. The book under discussion will be
"A Dog Called Homeless" by Sarah Lean. This tells the story of how a young girl learns to deal
with her grief with the help of a blind boy and a homeless dog. Boys and girls are to sign up at the
Youth Services Desk where copies of the book are available for check-out.
Writers’ Corner is being presented on March 24 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. Children will learn why and
how hyperboles are used in literature. They will also create their own hyperboles. Online registration
is required.

Otsego changes meeting date
TONTOGANY – The Otsego Schools Board of Education will meet March 31 at 6 p.m. in the high school
library.
The meeting had previously been set for March 25.
PJH students in Honors Band
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Junior High School bands had 16 students selected to perform in the Ohio Music
Education Association District I Honors Band. District I includes all schools in Defiance, Fulton,
Henry, Lucas, Williams and Wood counties. The selection process was by blind audition.
The concert was Feb. 16.
Honors band students included – flute: Carolyn Glasser, Hannah Morris; bassoon: Bree Plummer; clarinet:
Sam Miller, Lena Koskinen, Hailey Tomlin; alto saxophone: Enrico Tabernero; trumpet: Noah Tamlyn (first
chair), Brock Laurer, Evan Gilligan, Carson Flynn; French horn: Jake Sherwood, Will Griffioen; trombone:
Henry Magoun; tuba: Connor Gryczewski; percussion: Kassie Parritt.
Penta students earn top awards in SkillsUSA event
PERRYSBURG – On Feb. 14, 13 Penta Career Center students earned top awards at the SkillsUSA Regional
Competition in Tiffin.
All award winners will advance to the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships in Columbus April 15-16.
Seven students earned second place and silver medals, and students from Wood County included: Derrick
Perry, Perrysburg, Automotive Collision Repair, for the Automotive Refinishing contest; Colby Roseman,
Otsego, Automotive Collision Repair, for the Collision Repair contest; and Brad Corbin, Elmwood,
Construction Electricity, Mark Rumsey, Springfield, Construction Masonry, and Jared Berger, Lake,
Construction Carpentry, for the Team Works contest.
SkillsUSA is a national organization for high school students who are training for careers in trade,
industrial, technical, and health-related occupations.
