TONTOGANY – Sydney Davis was name queen and Seth Harnishfeger was named king at Otsego High School
homecoming activities Wednesday.
The event was delayed due to weather canceling the regularly scheduled homecoming.
Also competing for queen and king were seniors Heather Young-peter, Schyler Scherff, Makayla Chalfant and
Jalen Myers.
Davis is president of National Honor Society, the tailgating committee and PSEOP, and co-editor of the
yearbook. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church youth group and works at Nazareth Hall, both
in Grand Rapids.
Harnishfeger participates in cross country, National Honor Society and chorale. He also is a motorcross
team racer for the Right Direction Youth Development Program of Bowling Green. He is the son of Dion and
Joyce Harnishfeger.
Youngpeter is in National Honor Society, choir and the cheerleading squad. She is the daughter of Bob and
Susie Youngpeter.
Scherff, son of Scott and Kelly Scherff, participates in football, basketball, chorale, swing choir and
the musical. He also coaches Little Knights basketball.
Chalfant participates in woman’s choir, chorale, the musical and soccer. She also plays indoor soccer.
She’s the daughter of Kelly Chalfant and Denise Chalfant.
Myers plays basketball for the Knights. He’s the son of Ryan and Lisa Myers.
Two representatives from Penta Career Center were also chosen: Annastasia Holland and Brian Frail.
Holland is in HOSA at Penta, where she is a senior, and also volunteers for the Wood County Youth
Olympics. She is the daughter of Nichole Holland and Todd Finkenbiner.
Frail competes in track and varsity golf at Otsego, and is enrolled in the criminal justice program at
Penta, where he is a junior. He is a member of Skills USA. His parents are Brian Frail and Kristy
Selders.
The junior attendants were Kylie Asmus and John Urmetz.
Asmus, the daughter of Kirk and Shara Asmus, plays varsity softball and varsity volleyball, and
participates in yearbook and National Honor Society. She also is active in travel softball and 4-H.
Urmetz participates in track, men’s chorus, chorale and FFA and with the youth organization at St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church. He is the son of Tracy Getzinger, John Urmetz and Nick Getzinger.
The sophomore attendants were Anna Becker and Brant Kitchen.
Becker, daughter of Randy and Julie Becker, plays softball and is in the chorale. She also plays Haskins
tournament softball.
Kitchen competes in cross country, basketball and track, and is a member of Tontogany Hotwires 4-H club.
He is the son of Dustin Kitchen and Erica Kitchen-Roseman.
The freshmen attendants were Darian Messer and Parker Vollmar.
Messer participates in cheerleading, band, choir and the musical. She’s the daughter of Doug and Jessica
Spilker.
Vollmar plays junior varsity basketball and is in concert choir and Young Life. He’s the son of Joe and
Hannah Vollmar.
