Seventeen recent graduates of the Terra State Community College Associate Degree Nursing program received their nursing pins during a May ceremony. Those being pinned included Katie Foy, of Fostoria; and Heather Boyd, of Northwood.
A group of Trine University students recently won a competition during the North Central Regional Student Conference of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers at the University of Cincinnati. Zach Titkemeier, of Luckey, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering, was a member of the winning team.
Bridget Weisenburger, a University of Dallas student from Pemberville, has returned from spending the fall semester studying abroad at the University of Dallas' Eugene Constantin Campus near Rome, Italy. University of Dallas students have had the opportunity - usually in their sophomore years - to spend a semester in the Eternal City studying, traveling and experiencing the art, architecture, literature, philosophy and deeds that form the basis of Western civilization. A highlight of the semester is a 10-day study tour of Greece where students perform plays in ancient amphitheatres and read about Socrates on the sites where he once philosophized.
