The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi announces that the following local students were recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi  - the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: David Yost of Fostoria, who is pursuing a degree in Health System Administration at Ohio University; Shaun Fox of Bowling Green, who is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Findlay; Beth Stewart of Bloomdale, who is pursuing a degree at the University of Findlay; and Scott Trimmer of Perrysburg, who is pursuing a degree at the University of Findlay.
Emily Evans, a junior from Bowling Green, presented research on Study Abroad Reflections at the 37th Annual Beloit College Student Symposium on April 11. Evans majors in anthropology. Symposium Day at Beloit College is an academic forum at which students publicly present their research to the college community. Students pariticipating in the program prepare a half-hour oral presentation or make poster presentations of original research conducted during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Julie Long of Millbury presented a research project as part of Muskingum University's Under-graduate Research and Scholarship Week on the campus in New Concord, Ohio. Long presented a project titled Evaluating Impacts Of Vernal Pools on the Abundance and Diversity of Amphibian Species on a Reclaimed Surface Mine.
Jennifer Hobson, of Bowling Green, has been inducted into the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She is one of 40 students at Wilmington College inducted in April.  She's a senior with a dual major in math and chemistry.
