The Bowling Green High School Drama Club presents its fall play, the comedy "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield.
Developed in the 1980s by three young guys just out of college, "Complete Works" demonstrates the attempts of a troupe of would-be actors/Shakespeare aficionados to condense all of Shakespeare's plays and sonnets into one 97-minute slot of time. The result is a hilarious mix-up of stories, characters, and contemporary dialogue sprinkled liberally with Shakespearean text.
The show runs tonight, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the BG Performing Arts Center.
Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for students and $8 for adults. Senior citizens with a BG Schools Senior Card many show the card for free admission.
At this performance, audience members may send congratulatory "candy grams" to cast and crew, which will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission.
For questions, call 419-354-0100, ext. 1117.
Staged originally with three men performing all the parts, the drama club's production features 32 actors trading the roles and a 12-member production crew preparing costumes, designing make-up and hair, constructing props, and operating lights and sound.
2010 BGHS graduate Jordan McKinney returns to assist Drama Club Advisor Jo Beth Gonzalez with staging.
Actors include: Derek Griffin, Adam Panter, Tucker Pendleton, Sarah Drummer, Drew Kopp, Melissa Snyder, Grace Easterly, Flannery Murnen, Deja Seerrato, Courtney Brickner, Grace O'Hare, Marissa Ramos, Logan Brown, Jonathan Knoell, Lauren Smetzer, Christina Gavarone, Annahita Koogan, Nicole Lambert, Cara Brosius, Martin Simon, Megan Swartz, Jordan Hollanbaugh, Connor Moore, Ariane Zefferey, Rachel Amburgey, Emily Drake, Claire Wells-Jensen, Kayla Borland, Alexis Reinbolt, Andrew Weeland, Martha Drake, Megan Fisher, Mikayla Trimpey, Chris Brickner and Tyler Cook.
