The Bowling Green Board of Education has extended its contract with its district treasurer.
Rhonda Melchi, who has been with the district for 18 years as of next month, was given a five-year contract extension.
Her new contract will run from Aug. 1, 2014 to July 31, 2019.
Her pay stays the same. However, she will see a cut in severance time in line with the rest of the district's staff.
The new contract is "indicative of our great respect for Rhonda," said board member Eric Myers. "This is a way to show our appreciation."
Also at the meeting, the board was told a public auction to sell excess equipment will be at the bus garage on Bishop Road sometime in October.
Sue Chandler, food service director, reported that she has handled 1,370 free and reduced lunch applications, although some have been denied.
All school buildings are now requirement staff to swipe an ID card, rather than input a password.
Additionally, it was learned that the playground equipment at Ridge Elementary has been moved to Crim Elementary.
