Wood County District Public Library will host a number of programs this month.
On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., information and adult services joins with the Children’s Place to present a
multi-generational program, "Basic Genealogy: A Family Affair." Participants will meet in the
library’s second floor TechLab, and learn ways to use the library’s extensive online resources to
uncover "branches" of their family trees.
Due to limited space, registration is required, but this program is free and open to children and adults
(children ages 11-16 must be accompanied by an older family member). To benefit most from the program,
those registered should pick up a "Family Information Sheet" at the second floor Information
Desk beforehand, fill it out, and bring the completed sheet to the program.
The library also announces two book discussion groups to meet during the second half of June.
On June 19, the Coffee Talk Book Group, led by Kristin Wetzel, will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Carter
House to discuss Joanna Trollope’s "Friday Nights."
Just the Facts, the library’s nonfiction book group, will meet June 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carter House.
Led by Anne Render, the group will discuss Margalit Fox’s "The Riddle of the Labyrinth: the Quest
to Crack an Ancient Code."
Book discussions at WCDPL are open to all; having finished the selected books is not a requirement. Light
refreshments will be served at both events.
