Kaitlyn Valantine, 8, a second-grader at Bowling Green Christian Academy, talks with Sterling House
resident Gerry Gibson after making cupcakes during a visit to the retirement community Friday. Students
from BGCA joined in the ninth annual Community Day, intended to teach students the value of serving
their community. Each year more than 25 teams of students, staff, parents and volunteers are sent out to
help at various sites in Bowling Green. They set up Relay for Life, sang songs downtown, and helped
plant and weed at Simpson Garden Park.
