BG library book sale Sat.-Sun.
Friends of the Wood County Library will hold a bargain book sale Saturday and Sunday.
Books, music and movies will be priced at budget friendly prices.
Members of the friends group get exclusive access Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. But anyone can join at
the door. Saturday’s sale is open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday hours are 1 to 4:30
p.m.
Proceeds benefit programs and activities.
Pemberville swim signups Sat.
PEMBERVILLE – Pemberville Community Pool, swim team and learn to swim registration is Saturday and May 10
from 9 a.m. to noon in the Pemberville Town Hall.
Tilse benefit Sunday at Bradner
BRADNER – Modern Woodmen will be holding a matching funds benefit Sunday for Linda Tilse to help the
family pay off medical bills resulting in her losing battle to cancer.
The family is hosting a spaghetti dinner and raffle from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bradner Legion.

Modern Woodmen will be offering to match the funds raised for this event for up to $2,500.
Book sale at Way Library Sat.
PERRYSBURG – The Way Public Library Foundation and Friends will host a book sale Saturday from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m.
Thousands of books will be for sale, including a selection of new and used adult fiction and nonfiction
titles, plus children’s, juvenile, and young adult books. Books are sold by the bag, and bags are
provided at the sale.
Prices are $15 for a large bag and $5 for a small bag; items may also be purchased individually.
All proceeds benefit Way Public Library.
Fourth Saturday contra dance
The Fourth Saturday contra dance is at City Park’s Veterans Building from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
Partners are not necessary, and beginners and families are welcome.
Root Cellar String Band will play.
Benefit to aid Vietnam veterans
NORTHWOOD – Dining at Bob Evans on May 8 will benefit the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 35.
The restaurant on Woodville Road, at Interstate 280 and Lemoyne Road, will donate 15 percent of sales
when a flyer is presented or mentioned at checkout, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Bob Evans in Oregon, on Navarre Avenue off I-280, is also participating.

BG Kiwanis to hear pharmacist
Prak Naik, a pharmacist and drugstore owner, will present a program on food and drug interaction to the
Bowling Green Kiwanis Club at noon on May 1 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Bradner garage sales May 2-3
BRADNER – Bradner’s annual Community Garage Sales will be May 2 and 3.
Those who would like to be on the map should contact Dawn at 419 494-4919.
There will also be old fashion Bingo May 2 at the Bradner Fire Station from 7 to 11 p.m.
All proceeds from Bingo will benefit Bradner Day in the Park. There will be a 50/50 raffle and food.
Bingo will be 10 cents a card of three cards for a quarter.
Tuesday lunch at Risingsun
RISINGSUN – St. Paul United Methodist Church, Risingsun, will host a community dinner Tuesday from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m.
A free-will offering will be accepted for the scalloped potatoes, ham, corn, salad bar, pie and drink
meal.
