Gangsters in Wood County is library lecture topic
PERRYSBURG – Did you know that Depression-era gangsters, such as John Dillinger and Pretty Boy Floyd,
traversed the Wood County area, spending time here and committing crimes? How about that Lucas County
gangsters and racketeers tried to extort money from Wood County businesses?
On Tuesday at 7 p.m., Richard Baranowski, local history librarian at Way Public Library, will present a
talk titled: Dillinger Slept Here: Gangsters in Wood County.
Included in the program is the story of Pretty Boy Floyd’s visit to Bowling Green.
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

‘Philomena’ shown at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – Way Public Library announces a free showing of "Philomena" at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

This powerful film, released in 2013, is a moving and optimistic tale about a world-weary political
journalist who picks up the story of a woman’s search for her son, who was taken away from her decades
earlier when she became pregnant and was forced to live in a convent.
Dame Judi Dench earned a Best Leading Actress nomination for the title role.
Free and open to the public, this program is part of Way Library’s Show Me the Movie series which is
sponsored by Skotynsky Financial Group LLC. Refreshments will be served.
