Sharing Hands meal is Tuesday
LUCKEY _ Due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, the Sharing Hands free meal for all those living in
the Eastwood School District will be served on Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 at the American Legion Post,
#240, at 335 Park Drive. On the menu will be sloppy joes, chips, potato salad and other salads, pies and
cakes, beverages.
Carry-out meals are available as well as home-delivered meals by calling Tresa Witker at 419-308-0536 or
the legion hall at 419-833-3581 by 6 p.m. on the day of the meal.
Everyone is welcome.
Luckey Library host Tea Party
LUCKEY – The Luckey Public Library will be hosting an Afternoon Tea Party on May 29 from 3:30 to 4:30
p.m.
The party will feature tea sandwiches, scones, and a blend of teas.
Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite book to share.

BGPD’S White graduates from Leadership College
The Bowling Green Police Division has announced that Sergeant Justin White graduated from the Police
Executive Leadership College (PELC) on May 16.
White has been with the police division since August of 2001. He was promoted to sergeant in July of
2012.
The PELC course presents leadership topics necessary for development of personnel and the accomplishment
of agency goals and objectives. It is based on the premise that leadership skills can be learned and
that, given the opportunity for feedback and practice, executives can improve their abilities to lead.
It is focused on leadership skills important to long-term personal success and change in the
organization, geared towards the benefit of the community.
Waterville offers walking tours
WATERVILLE – The Historic District walking tours of Waterville will begin May 31 at 10 a.m. starting at
the Robbins House Museum, 114 South River Road. Both the Robbins House and the Sargent House Museum next
door will be open from 9 a.m. until noon with docents from the Waterville Historical Society providing
information.
Two walking tours will be offered with a longer one including the Third Street business district.
Admission to the museums is free but a $1 donation is requested for the illustrated brochure describing
the architecture and history of the homes on the walking tour.
The museum open houses and walking tours will be offered again on the last Saturdays of June, July and
August.
Whitehouse Cherry Fest set
WHITEHOUSE – The Whitehouse Historical Society will be participating in the Whitehouse Cherry Festival on
June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with tours of the 1840s log house, a bake sale and "Trash and
Treasures" sale.
The first floor of the log house is furnished with furniture of the 184’s period and the second floor is
a museum for memorabilia depicting history of Whitehouse and the Maumee Valley.
The log house is located at the corner of Providence, Shepler and Texas streets in Whitehouse. Proceeds
from memberships and fund raising events support the restoration and maintenance of the log house.
These activities are open to the public and the Whitehouse Historical Society welcomes new members.
