Hayes Home hosting duo performing historic sounds
FREMONT – A concert by the Dodworth Duo will inaugurate a new music series, Music in the Parlor, at the
Hayes Presidential Center Sunday at 4 p.m.
The hour-long concert will be presented in the library parlor of the Hayes mansion. Advance reservations
are required. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and younger. Call 419-332-2081, ext.

Soprano Julie Craigo and tenor Ted Badgerow will perform America’s Past in History & Song
accompanied by other members of the Dodworth Saxhorn Band. Among the instruments that may accompany the
vocalists are guitar, banjo, fife, harmonica, and penny whistle.

American Legion to place flags in downtown Bowling Green
American Legion Post 45 will be putting up flags in downtown Bowling Green on Friday at 6:30 a.m. Members
are meeting at the library.
Flags will be removed May 27 at 6 p.m.
Humane Society plans annual garage sale
The Wood County Humane Society garage sale will run Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and May 24
from 9 a.m. to noon.
On Friday, all clothing items will be sold for 10 cents apiece. On May 24, shoppers will enjoy a $2/bag
sale on all remaining items. The sale will be held at the grandstand of the Wood County Fairgrounds.
The event has been a tradition for the community of Wood County and an important fundraiser for the WCHS
for many years.
In 2013, organizers of the event exceeded their fundraising goal by 30 percent, bringing in over $10,000.

All proceeds from the event go toward animal care, staff salaries, and shelter maintenance and all
donations are tax deductible.
