To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts useyourhead 2009-12-07 13:21:20 Tired, yes facts are needed. The name calling ( just pokes ) are not needed. Never use FOX NEWS ? I wouldn't say "never". brutus, assumptions can get you in trouble. Bring facts ? Read post #37. How those opinions are expressed tells a great deal about a person. Once name calling and assumptions are introduced into the "debate" the credibility of that person is completely compromised. brutus "quit your belly aching" My point made, thank you.
To the Editor: Don't throw out what we have, just fix it useyourhead 2009-12-07 14:05:57 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ brutus.
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts brutus 2009-12-07 15:10:34 useyourhead, Are you going to pick your toys up and go home? Wahhhhh.
Otsego takes step to build school otsegores 2009-12-07 15:24:34 Do you people realize you are doing more to undermine the school district with all your bickering than any one school building could ever do? The kids are OTSEGO kids and having a centralized school will help them realize that. In an ideal world we'd be able to keep our local schools but name me one district our size in Ohio that has done that in the last 10 years?

To the Editor: BG resident has some 'holiday' issues PerrysburgRES 2009-12-07 15:56:20 Wow!! Portage sounds like an amazing place to live and be associated with. I wonder why it is failing? Could it be that every resident only complains about the problems and offers no viable solutions? I think I speak for most of the people on here when I say stop talking about your tiny failing town already. Stop blaming the police department for your issues. You are a tiny town with no real tax base or infrastructure and that is why it failed. Now please stop!
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts brutus 2009-12-07 16:43:01 Some on here are just now experiencing your fake poutrage. I've seen it for quite awhile. I know it is a right wing tactic. The more your hatred for people comes out the more people see what is really going on. People like you are selfish and hate to help anyone. Like they say useyourhead/bunker, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time.
Darling confirmed as Pemberville chief BGRes 2009-12-07 16:54:46 FYI, the new Chief's name is James, not John. Congrats Chief Darling.
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts useyourhead 2009-12-07 17:15:06 Wow brutus, I sincerely hope you don't live your life with such paranoia and animosity.
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts Bunker 2009-12-08 00:45:25 First of all, I am not anybody else on here except Bunker the TROLL ( Totaly Right On Liberal Lies). Never posted here as anyone else before, either. So let's address this BHO + POTUS = POS controversy. NotASocialist gasps in horror at being called a Marxist but calls me a "TROLL", "nazi", and want to "kill fags" in statement 18. I never said anything to remotely indicate such a lie. brutus "tiny b to match my tiny p" decides to imply that I am a racist in #4, a "teabagging hypocrite" in #16, and responds to honest debate and facts with mockery and clownishness, but no answers. I say that the president is a POS and start giving you back some of your petty insults, and you can't believe the hatred being posted on here. You liberals want to poke the bear with a stick, but cry baby when you get mauled. Sickening. My forefathers would be proud of what I am doing. We fought against slavery during the Civil War. We fought againt National SOCIALISM in WW2. We fought against Communism in Korea and Vietnam. I even have some friends (not relatives, though) who have served or are serving in Iraq. The military takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, and that is what I argue for. The Constitution is there to limit the power of government over the people, not to give government power over the people. Socialism takes away individual rights and grants them to the government to distribute allowing for "rationing" of the governed. 'Nuff said!

To the Editor: Don't throw out what we have, just fix it Bunker the TROLL 2009-12-08 01:08:24 I don't think you need to drag Bill "OJ" Clinton into any position, brutus Lewinsky! Who didn't see that one coming? Blinky brutus! The jokes just write themselves! Didn't you read the part in the DNC handbook about mentioning Bill with the words "position", "facial", "humidor" , "head of state", or "stains" unless you want to be shamed?

Portage must grow if it's going to exist Tom Butters 2009-12-08 11:27:16 So Portage just wont go away. With the strong grasp of the english language by the Mayor (my bad...), (the cost of being me....), it is no wonder Portage will never amount to anything but a derelict police department and a struggling town.
Portage must grow if it's going to exist the grey hair 2009-12-08 12:13:41 PORTAGE DOES NOT HAVE TO GROW. YES WE WILL LOOSE OUR VILLAGE FORM OF GOVERNMENT AND ALL VILLAGE PASSED TAXES, ETC. BUT, UNDER TOWNSHIP RULE, WE CAN BE MORE EFFICIENT, SAVING RESIDENTS HARD EARNED DOLLARS. WE WILL HAVE TO DEPEND ON VOLUNTEERS TO GET THINGS DONE, BUT WE WILL SURVIVE. NEED YOUR LEAVES PICKED UP OR BRUSH PICKED UP? HIRE SOMEONE ! IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD FOLKS !!
Opal Brown ruby 2009-12-08 12:19:12 Hi Linda and John, I am so sorry to hear about Opal. What a happy and friendly lady she was. She was always looking out for all us kids in the neighborhood and the town. She let us know if we were good or doing something we shouldn't be doing, and with a smile of her face. I remember her taking care of Ron and your two boys John. As I remember and think back what a joy she was to have in the town. We need more Mothers like Opal taking care of everyone. Ruby Businger Greer
Portage must grow if it's going to exist ANGRY 2009-12-08 15:53:06 Just leave us alone, I am not going to bail you underhanded , corrupt and idiotic morons out. You people (The mayor, Council) should be ashamed.
Portage must grow if it's going to exist dan59 2009-12-08 16:06:07 As a worker at one of the businesses Portage is trying to annex,I am wondering why we that do not live in Portage should have to pay taxes to the village of Portage. We all have to live with in our means. It is not our fault that Portage was unable to do the same. The end of Portage would not be the end of the world. It almost amazes me that a town with only a auto repair shop, a barber shop and a carryout has corporation limit signs a mile or two out of town to the southeast, and now wants to move the northern boundary almost to Bowling Green.
Opal Brown Merri Lynn 2009-12-08 16:32:02 Aunt Linda and Uncle John, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Aunt Opal was the best aunt ever and just a good decent person! I wish I could be there but I live 11 hours away and only found about about her death Tuesday evening. I work in a hospital and we are short staffed at this time and unfortunately they dont recognize Aunts as immediate family. I will sure be thinking about her and all of you though. I bet there was a heck of a reunion in heaven! Love, Merri Lynn
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts NotASocialist 2009-12-08 17:11:44 @Bunker the Ignorant (find an anacronym for that!): Yes, your forefathers WOULD disown you, they would be absolutely ASHAMED! You have no idea. BTW: (Fact:) National Socialism is NOT Socialism, it is a form of FASCISM. That is, a form of RIGHT WING extremism. The National Socialists in Germany expelled the socialists and communists to death camps. Communism is extreme left wing, nazism is extreme right wing. (Think about it!) Bunker clearly understands neither the difference nor the history. It is a stupid dichotomy that continues to be given validity by those who seek to divide (like Bunker) and have no interest in intelligent exchange of ideas. The "right-wing" has done more to destroy and defame the Constitution than socialism EVER could. Bunker-the-ignoramus will get the last post here because that is what he insists on doing on every blog with his "mockery and clownishness." Go ahead fool: we're all done with you anyhow. blah-blah-blah (...although I bet I could keep on provoking his hate-speech into eternity...how terribly easy to incite fools, eh?) (Watch: here comes his next post, probably within the hour...)
To the Editor: Rants about socialism lack facts Don't Feed the Trolls 2009-12-08 17:22:48 Couldn't get in the military yourself (archie)Bunker? Section 8 or don't ask don't tell policy keep you out. Where the hell where you in defending OUR consitution when Bush was illegally wiretapping citizens in the US? and as previously brought up in this thread, how is a woman's RIGHT to choose something for you to decide? You say you want to limit the government's power over the people but only if it is something you believe in. Slavery was only a small part of the civil war so don't try and make yourself try sound less racist than your comments already have proven. You wanna know what is BS? The thousands of soldiers that died in Iraq for a FICTIOUS war! WMDs? "He tried to kill my daddy" -GWB. AND I ONLY POST ON HERE AS DON'T FEED THE TROLLS! and how long did it take you to make up your cute little acronym? But a Troll is a person that posts on websites just to provoke.
Former officer indicted for theft Pantherpride84 2009-12-08 18:30:01 Goatee needs to go to jail for what he did wrong of this. I know alot about this case because I'm one of the victim's that he did this too.
Portage must grow if it's going to exist Ben S. Shaw 2009-12-08 20:21:01 Since the village is broke, then why don't Portage write another bad check and buy the Mayor a teleprompter, so when he talks maybe something intelligent might come out instead of "My bad!" Who needs Carty Finkbeiner when Portage has their Mayor?! Portage should hide their heads in the sand every time their Mayor Long-Hair opens his mouth, because it is an embarrassment!!
Otsego takes step to build school Energy guy 2009-12-09 03:30:03 Otsegores you might want to look at comment number 13 it tells the story at the bottom line. It takes money to run schools and if you destroy your tax base-- you lose Elementary schools have always been in the local neighborhoods for good reasons--that is where the kids live-- it makes a lot of things less costly and easier for parents and taxpayers, and kids. In almost all city schools there are elementary schools in the neighborhoods. Toledo just built new and kept local schools. Anthony Wayne has elementary buildings and so does Perrysburg. Patrict Henry kept both Deshler and Malinta buildings. Eastwood wisely rejected new buildings and thus keeps the three elementary buildings. Wayne Trace has their elementary buildings and you might want to go look at Bloomdale, the bank, elevator, gas station, grocery store, and finally the school is gone, you really think the property values have gone up there? It is important to the whole district to keep our three outlying villages alive and well. That increases property values by making them an attractive place to live. In fact if you really want to look deep you can find good studies from BGSU that show that kids do best if kept in the same enviorment from first through eighth grade--and so do the teachers involved with them. That brings up another important point, it is time to start running a school--not a construction company, this district has forgotten what is supposed to do, educate kids not build buildings.
Portage must grow if it's going to exist Norm 2009-12-09 03:56:38 Ok , Lets see if I have this right the mayor of Portage is trying to annex those three companies? Do your Homework Mr Mayor!! I dont think so. Is your law dept going to work on details or is this a handshake deal? Ha Ha All that would happen if you ever did annex those companies they would just move to their other Locations believe me!!! Than Portage can have some more Vaccant Bldgs. and more land. Portage,Ohio will never take tax money from any of those workers let alone the companies that have worked for years to buid a successfull company. So lets all just say a prayer now for the Mayor of Portage that he stops these fairy tales getting all these workers upset. see the pattern people. Yours Truley Norm Soldwish Jr
L. Bernadine Shilling Jeff Szymanski 2009-12-09 05:59:23 Dave, Vicki, and family, It is with the deepest sympathy that we send this note. Again, so sorry for your loss. Jeff, Irland, Bob, Brian, and all your friends at Toledo Optical
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? useyourhead 2009-12-09 07:56:03 Joyce, you have made some valid points. There is no doubt that governmnet is needed in our world. Health care reform is definately needed. The plans presented thus far is what I have issues with. For instance, the government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States. IMHO that is huge, not only with health care but in general. We have programs/services already in place for people without health insurance. Could improving those programs be a valid option in a better health care system ? I understand that the "public option" is not going to happen. Health care reform can still happen. I hope it does.
ENGAGEMENT: Scholl & Gumucio Lorie & Mike 2009-12-09 09:01:44 Wow! Congradulations. I didn't know Bob Scholl was old enough to have a daughter that graduated high school, let alone now getting married. Putting this in the paper just made him officially old. haha. Can't wait till he's a grand dad. lol.
To the Editor: We should not ignore plight of the uninsured useyourhead 2009-12-09 09:07:15 Diane, Good for you in regards to your health. As far as the Medicare age people refusing Medicare benefits, they shouldn't. They have been paying into the system for many years. As far as our govt administering a health program. Medicare and Medicaid made an estimated $23.7 billion in improper payments in 2007. These included $10.8 billion for Medicare and $12.9 billion for Medicaid. Medicare’s fee-for-service reduced its error rate from 4.4 percent to 3.9 percent. Medicare paid dead physicians 478,500 claims totaling up to $92 million from 2000 to 2007. These claims included 16,548 to 18,240 deceased physicians. Almost 25% of doctors refuse to treat new Medicare patients. I'm sorry, I am not impressed with that. I am not saying private ins. is better or worse, but govt. is not a great option.
To the Editor: To life, liberty and the pursuit of accuracy brutus 2009-12-09 12:30:58 I tried to get Deb to read the Constitution too, but it didn't do any good.
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? brutus 2009-12-09 12:35:48 Excellent letter Joyce and hopefully we can have health care for those who can't afford it and reasonable rates for all.
To the Editor: We should not ignore plight of the uninsured brutus 2009-12-09 12:43:41 Diane, great letter. Unfortunately some commentors only come on here to spew their right wing talking points. They need to stick to their right wing blogs.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Sarah Lutz 2009-12-09 17:28:21 I too was a witness to this situation and "Tracy Thomas" is not telling the whole truth! The mother of the child verbally attacked the teen coach (who was on crutches) and became enraged with him, waving her finger and yelling in his face. The woman who wears a wig simply was defending this young teen. The woman who wears the wig sat back down and was further tormented by the childs mother. Speak the truth and publish your real name next time "Tracy"!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Andrea 2009-12-09 18:09:16 Give me a break! I am the mother who asked the question and Sara you where NOT even there at the time! You walked up AFTER I walked away! Your a liar.. A father even made a comment regarding the situation to the coaches and wig thrower as I was walking away! I also thanked him! So "Tracy" thank you and I believe in you too!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Carry 2009-12-09 18:23:18 I am not just writing this because I am a good friend of the mother who asked the question but writing this because Sarah you know even what you wrote is still not the truth. I know that you already have a dislike for this person for whatever reason you may have. After the gentleman on the side lines asked the teen if he was coaching and if he was, that is what he should be doing. The mother said thank you for putting an end to the childish behavior and walked away. That is when you walked up and the woman who wears the wig stood there together for about 10 minutes probably still discussing the situation. I don't even know where you were in the midst of all this but I was standing right there.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Robin 2009-12-09 18:39:41 Tracy, I would love to shake your hand to say "Thank you" for what you wrote about Otsego flag football. It is really too bad that any parent(s) would display that kind of action in front of the children. After all it is a game. And can you imagine how the kids felt when that wig went flying? To you Sarah, you should be ashamed. you just repeated gossip You were not even there at the time. the only truth you do speak is your "name"
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized otsego student 2009-12-09 18:50:18 Honestly its not just the flag football where kids are treated un equally its almost every sport over at Otsego from the High football team down to the flag football. Even in the high school when the football team was down 50 - 0 coach johnson still wouldnt rotate kids in until maybe the last five minutes of the game left. So i am 100% in agreement that Otsego need to be more careful about who they chose as a coach.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Heidi 2009-12-09 19:34:51 The mother who asked the question did nothing wrong. The wig thrower and her henchmen were the wrong doers. Just because you dont like someone Sarah does not give you the right to slander them and distorted the truth to fill some old highschool grudge. Shame on you and the example YOU are setting. Good for you Andrea for setting the GOOD example and keeping your cool and handling the situation the way you did. More parents need to learn from your example.
ENGAGEMENT: Scholl & Gumucio Joe 2009-12-09 20:07:39 Awww, Chelsea worked with us at Woodlane! We loved Chelsea! Congrats!! Friendship!!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Sarah 2009-12-09 21:57:02 I do not even know the mother who came over and started this whole situation so it is not fair or true to say I dislike her. I did hear and see her yelling at the teen coach and I also saw the woman who threw her wig defending him.Im sorry but this article was childish to even be written in the first place. And I was simply defending the poor woman who defended the teen coach.
Rossford man indicted on two counts of murder Lauren 2009-12-09 23:21:19 Dominic is a great kid. He would never hurt a fly. Wrong place for him and that man he killed. They didn't tell the whole story though...The man he killed tried to drag a kid out of the car and Dominic freaked. He didn't mean to kill that man.
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith Marlene 2009-12-10 04:07:42 Your comments may be true in one aspect, Donna, but the SA *is* for heterosexuals only. The SA during the Bush Administration tried to get an exemption to be able to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, which is why PFLAG set up a protest campaign, and continues to do so.
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? Marlene 2009-12-10 04:17:24 UYH -- Not everyone qualified for those programs, my dear. I currently am fighting to be put back on Medicaid when I was forced off because I had life insurance in my name, and I was forced to sell the policies. I can't go to the doctor for anything, because I have no income, and I'm fighting Social Security to get on disability for my mental illnesses because I can't work. There are millions of people like me out there, UYH who can't access their primary care doctor, and the "go to the ER" as an alternative (like that moron from Texas said!) just drives up the cost for your insurance. I'd like to remind you though that Ohioans are *required* to have insurance in order to license their car, remember? Finally, we *need* the public option, but Big Pharma and the insurance lobby are afraid of competition, so they flooded their Congressional slaves with money to kill any sort of threat to their cash cow, thus putting to the lie of the GOP claim of letting the market decide, or that competition is good. Typical hypocricy from the right.
Owens hit by more lawsuits Marlene 2009-12-10 04:28:25 Good luck to the students with their suit! I'll be interesting to watch as the process drags on and see the dirty laundry the administration tried to wash.
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? useyourhead 2009-12-10 05:51:29 Marlene, I am sorry to hear about your health conditions. I am not sure of what programs you have already tried. Here are a couple of web sites that may help. http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/02/12/ep.health.insurance.help/index.html http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/resourcesavaila_twzw.htm http://www.enotes.com/everyday-law-encyclopedia/treatment-without-insurance There are numerous programs other than Medicaid out there. I hope you find something that works for you. And yes, Ohioans are *required* to have insurance in order to license their car. But I am not "required" to own a car. It's a condition on owning a car. Big difference. The public option is not going to happen and that is good for the people. I hope that people are not forced, by our govt., to purchase something in order to be a citizen.
Owens hit by more lawsuits habib 2009-12-10 08:09:22 SLOWENS COMMUNITY COllEGE WENT THERE A FEW YRS BACK AS A NONTRADITIONAL STUDENT. WAS SHOCKING TO SEE HOW ULTRALIBERAL BELIEFS WERE BEING FORCED UPON STUDENTS.
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? brutus 2009-12-10 09:02:38 Please explain why the Public Option is not good for the people. Your own words please. And the Public Option is not dead yet. Wishful thinking on your part, but there are 2 houses in Congress.
To the Editor: How much do we really want government out of our lives? brutus 2009-12-10 09:23:40 The reason we need a different option is because those sights you listed do not deal with the people who are over the poverty limit but don't have enough income to purchase insurance. And if you have a pre-existing condition forget it. Thus the reason we need some form of Public Option.
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith LOL Marlene 2009-12-10 10:37:53 Wow Marlene, you went straight to the tired "I hate George Bush" response. She was stating that the SA is not there only for Christmas, err Holiday..if you prefer, but that the SA helps people all year.
To the Editor: We should not ignore plight of the uninsured hehehehehehehe 2009-12-10 10:45:09 brutus, I just came off my I hate everything except neo-conservative, ultra right wing, muiti-trillionaire, and Christian only page, to thank you for making my day and giving me a good laugh. Cheers!
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith brutus 2009-12-10 11:22:23 LOL Marlene, when you actually read the original letter and Marlene's response, maybe then your response will make sense.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Heidi 2009-12-10 11:43:27 Sarah- funny how you are the only one who is saying the opposite of what every else witnessed. Maybe you are thinking of another similar incident. Kudos to Tracy for writing a letter to the editor regarding this situation. Andrea didnt deserve to be verbally attacked, in front of her child nonetheless. And even funnier how come to find out you had another issue with Andrea regarding your son bullying her daughter, so of course you are goin to attack her. The bottom line is Otsego needs to be careful who they get to coach their teams and furthermore it gives parents something to think about before they open their mouths at a child's event. Time to let it go and move on.......bet you cant!
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith LOL Marlene 2009-12-10 12:10:27 Sorry brutus, am I missing something??!?!? I did "actually read" the original letter and I STILL do not see what justfifed her comment. It is out of context, no matter how you look at it, or try to spin it. Oh boy, I sure hope my response made sense.....

I think what the other people posting on here are saying is that the SA will help you as long as you aren't a homosexual....That is where that word BELIEF comes into play...and it doesn't say anything about CHRISTMAS......it says CHRISTIANS....
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith brutus 2009-12-10 13:57:24 Thank you Don't Feed The Trolls. I was trying to get her to read it and see the points you brought out.

I find that very hard to believe that if this did occur, that the media isn't STILL screaming about it to this day. By the way, I still do not see any justification for the initial comment from Marlene, because I understand your comments very well.... C'mon give it another shot....I wait for your response with baited breath.

To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Andrew 2009-12-10 17:53:49 This little tiff between everyone was brought to my attention by a Co-worker of mine. I had to laugh. My son played flag football on the team this happend on. Though I was unable to attend my sons last game my Daughter was able. As they returned home I asked how it went. To my shock my son started telling the "tail" of the 2 moms. I asked my daughter what "really" happend. She stated the mother of the son who was no longer playing DID look upset but never swore or even raised her voice. It was a teen coach and an adult one but it was a women my daughter described as a crazed women throwing a wig that took things over the top. So ladies cat fighting season is over!
To the Editor: We should not ignore plight of the uninsured brutus 2009-12-10 18:22:12 OK, you can find your own screen, don't steal mine. brutus
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Pam 2009-12-10 22:10:27 Folks the lady with the wig has very serious medical reason for wearing one so give thanks you don't. If you don't like the caliber of coaches WHY DON'T YOU COACH? I know for a fact, they have a terrible time finding ANYONE willing to coach.
To the Editor: Salvation Army helps people in need, regardless of faith LOL Marlene 2009-12-11 05:55:35 Thanks for the link "Don't Feed The Trolls." I must of missed that story, because you are right, it is 8 years old... However, I used my brain (it was very hard to process out the command with half a brain, mind you) and I did do a google search, per brutus's request. I saw that they were making some efforts to reach out more, but I'm sure that will never be enough. Well, if you don't want to donate to them, then donate to another cause. Don't let a even that happened 8 years ago shut down your giving sprit. After all, people are still in need.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Otsego Student123 2009-12-11 07:06:24 I would like to thank the great Otsego parents who make our school look bad. I have seen our school in the news more than any other school the past two years. All your doing is bringing bad press to our schools. Please, coming from a student try to keep your calm and keep things like this out of the papaer, b/c u never know whos hands this could get into. EVERYONE in the Otsego School District is representing our school; so lets keep the bad press behind the scenes. From these conflicts and issues in the news it makes "US" the students of Otsego look "bad". When someone asks me what school i go to i dont want to have the feeling of "how am i going to be judged if i say where i go to school". Thanks, Otsego High School Students.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Sharon 2009-12-11 07:40:03 Otsego has made a bad reputaion for themselves because of the students and faculty, NOT because of this incident. If they want to be left out of the news, THE SCHOOL needs to make sure it is abiding by its own rules and the students need to take PRIDE in their school. And Pam, having a serious medical condition does NOT give a person the right to verbally attack someone else for no reason. Seems like the majority rules on this one. The wig thrower was wrong. The other lady handled herself correctly. Remember people, tis the season. Forgive and move on. God Bless.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Otsego Student 123 2009-12-11 08:19:54 Sharon, Otsego is a great school and has its flaws. Its the point that everyone keeps bringing there problems to the paper and the public! The surrounding schools all have problems; But do you see there parents, students, or others bringing there problems to the newspaper or public. No! The students dont cause the problems to go into the public. Its the school and the parents who ruin it for all. THE STUDENTS LIKE MYSELF ARE GETTING HURT BY ALL THIS!!! IT NEEDS TO STOP!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Sarah 2009-12-11 09:07:57 Andrea Im sorry I did make an error. the woman who was upset with you was taunted after sitting down by another man in the crowd.Reguardless, two wrongs dont make a right. And she would of never reacted in anger for no reason, again she was defending the teen coach and upset about what you had called her.Publishing this little tiff online and in the paper was wrong and childish. I did see what happen and thats why I have taken up her defense. As far as my son bulling your daughter...hmmm this is news to me! Last I heard from the school is that your son was kicked off of the bus due to bulling my son and other children, so if you really have an issue with this we can talk in private.I do not have anything against you personally and I will not respond online anymore!
Teen that went missing is charged with burglary townie 2009-12-11 10:52:41 It is so sad and ironic that as he was apparently victimizing the community he was found in, they were praying and hoping he would be found safe. How much does Walbridge and Wood County have to pay for actually caring and being concerned about a young man who was "missing". At a time when the county and Walbridge are facing economic hardships having to pay for the seach seems outrageous!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized wigthrower 2009-12-11 12:10:46 I am sorry for my part in this bad behavior. Andrea I appoligize to you, the kids on the team and to Sarah who has been abused for defending me. But most of all I appoligize to the Otsego students. You are correct that Otsego is a great school. So please let's let this matter drop for the sake of our children who are friends and teammates. The wig thrower
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Proud 2009-12-11 12:58:22 I would like to take this moment to say I am so proud to know the "wigthrower" and once again she has shown what true class really is. I am proud to know the coach as well and some would be lucky to be a part of your world. My hat is off to ALL the wigthrowers of the world, who stand up and do the right thing over and over.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Bunker 2009-12-11 13:00:50 Otsego Student 123, why are you writing posts and not in school if you are really a student? I mean, you posted that at 8:19 am on Friday. Did x-mas break start already? If one more wig gets thrown, it's gonna be Jerry Springer Knights for you!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Coach 2009-12-11 15:15:18 I am the teen coach. I am here to say that i was doing everything to protect myself. The mother first attacked me verbally and the wig thrower was protecting me as i had a broken leg with a mother cursing in my face. The child said he no longer wanted him to play so I said he could go. Also i am 15 vfolunteeering my time for younger children so they can have a good experiance with football. I happen to know many parents appriciated me doing so. I wish to say that i was doing no wrong just my job. I was calmly telling the mother that her son was also saying nasty stuff to teammates. Thank you for thosewho are telling the real truth about the angry mother.

To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized GrandMother 2009-12-11 17:18:20 To all who have written. Please let it drop. Do any of you really care about the kids? The only truth here is that a bunch of adults and a teen ager showed a group of people/children some bad public behavior. You all continue to do this in these little notes back and forth.Kinda reminds me of grade school.Merry Christmas. The GrandMother
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized outsider 2009-12-11 18:46:10 Throw in a midget and a bearded lady, and that could of been one hell of a show. Is this really a place where this needs to be discussed ? Why doesn't everyone get together for a cup of coffee and hash this out. Maybe even wear some hats in case someone wants to throw something. :) Good luck.

The scripture the Lord has been revealing to me is "For I know the plans I have for you. Plans for good and not for evil." Seek Me and you will find Me. I will guide your steps. I give you a hope and a purpose. Seek Me daily. Thanks, Pastor Steve for all you have done and for all you are doing in Him. God Bless, Nancy
BG hopes to break even professorjackson 2009-12-11 19:52:07 I am pleased Dr. Cartwright is spending some of her budget to help the bowl game break even, but I feel like it should be asked where would the money have been spent if not on this? Dr. Cartwright's email also says the Foundation is kicking in to help it break even. Again, one wonders where that money would have been spent if not on the bowl game. Also, evidently the public statements about how much these bowl payouts are overstate things quite a bit. Glad to see our AD publicly recognize this. Also, does this model of breaking even account for our ticket allotment? Also, there is still the question of intercollegiate athletics evidently routinely overspending by millions. Finally, it is wonderful to see the real costs and benefits of intercollegiate athletics discussed publicly.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized anonymous 2009-12-11 19:53:29 Outsider, Thanks for lightening the situation! It was getting a bit crazy! And you are absolutely correct, they are adults and should act like it.
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized Grandmother 2009-12-11 20:04:26 Merry Christmas to "All" And to "All" GOODNIGHT! LOL!
To the Editor: Flag football flap criticized anonymous 2009-12-11 20:09:11 Please, this is a football situation, leave it with football and stop dragging other situations into this mess. Also, no one would step up to coach, so this coach took on a team twice the size it was supposed to be, and then got help from a teenager with a busy school scheduale and on crutches! So please stop saying stuff about we need better coaches unless you are willing to step up to the plate and coach these childern. It would be best for everyone if the situation were just dropped.

State is surrendering control of Fort Meigs downthePike 2009-12-11 23:09:07 About 50 years ago, I attended Union Elementary School, just across the Maumee River from Fort Meigs and our teachers would take us to the fort for field trips. It was wonderful. I surely hope that this site will be preserved for future generations and not allowed to fall into waste and disrepair. I no longer live in Ohio or I would get involved personally to help out.
