To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-09-30 17:16:16 1. There isn't a single government agency or division that runs efficiently; do we really want an organization that developed the U.S. Tax Code handling something as complex as health care? 2.Just because Americans are uninsured doesn't mean they can't receive health care; nonprofits and government-run hospitals provide services to those who don't have insurance, and it is illegal to refuse emergency medical service because of a lack of insurance. 3.Malpractice lawsuit costs, which are already sky-high, could further explode since universal care may expose the government to legal liability, and the possibility to sue someone with deep pockets usually invites more lawsuits. 4.Government is more likely to pass additional restrictions or increase taxes on smoking, fast food, etc., leading to a further loss of personal freedoms. 5.Like social security, any government benefit eventually is taken as a "right" by the public, meaning that it's politically near impossible to remove or curtail it later on when costs get out of control. I'm against government healthcare. Stay tuned as im sure to be called some names. hahaha
To the Editor: BG bars urged to never again host Girls Gone Wild Upset Mom 2009-09-30 17:22:39 Captain Obvious is quite right, filming someone who is drunk, and getting them to sign a consent form in order to sell their image as pornography while still drunk, IS completely reprehensible. It can also lead to a heck of a civil suit - who has the "capacity" to sign a contract while drunk? I would certainly encourage anyone involved in such exploits to fight that in a court of law! The other problem here is that, after they get the young ladies intoxicated, they slip them out of the bar and into a portable studio, that is, a camper, parked right in front of the bar! Isn't there something about public decency on the books in BG? If said people were in a car parked there and conducting themselves in this manner, they would be cited for violating city ordinances!
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child Texasbluestar 2009-09-30 17:42:21 Its a free country, last I knew it was still legal for a guy with a bump on his head to say something odd about a toe injurie! I would suggest next time you excersise your freedoms and pull the curtain back and tell him to shut his pie hole about you daughter. Your bad day was just that... a bad day. Heavan forbid, to go running to your local newspaper for this!
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-09-30 17:53:32 #1 How about as compexed as the military or NASA? #2 OK Eric Cantor, beg for help. #3 See comment #5 #4 insurance compnay's raise your rates, deductables, and limit your coverage. #5 Find me someone receiving Social Security who doesn't want it. Brad, Make sure you take some soap on a rope to prison with you. Reich wing.
To the Editor: Anthony Wayne students' behavior criticized Texasbluestar 2009-09-30 18:31:11 Be realist Carol, what really hurt was the THRASHING and CRUSHING your students took in the 61 to 7 whoopin' on the football field. Here are some of the words you used: disrespectful, attacked, wet sticky candy (weapons I presum), rude heckling, booing, vulgar, grotesque, inappropriate, deplorable, safety hazard, student falling, disappointed, apologies, rude, trod, responsibility, tolerance, respect. Your letter to the editor is right out of the Liberal Left handbook. Is it any wonder why many parents do not wish their children to be around todays public school teachers and the constant indoctrination of the lefts (socialistic/marxist) ideals from our educators.
To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-09-30 18:32:51 I was in the military for 10 years. I have been to base hospitals.I don't want the government running my health care. NASA?? Under a 2005 law, the space agency must tell Congress when a major project under development will exceed its budget by more than 15% or fall more than six months behind schedule. Four of the 12 new major projects are over budget, and eight are behind schedule to the point where lawmakers needed to be notified. I didn't say someone wouldn't want social security. Maybe you should reread #5. it's politically near impossible to remove or curtail it later on when costs get out of control. If there is government health care and costs are astronomical, or the system just doesn't work, we would be stuck with it. I'm not Brad. You don't read very well do you. Thanks for the name calling, I knew you would do it. So predictable.
To the Editor: Reform needed now maxx 2009-09-30 18:38:41 Well put useyourhead. Same logic I was trying.(didn't work) To your point #5 brutus. show me someone receiving welfare that doesn't want it & doesn't keep it as a permanent lifestyle. They say never argue with an idiot 'cause they'll drag you down to their level & whip you with experience. I'll leave the blissfully ignorant to their happy little world & keep working to support them I guess
To the Editor: Reform needed now maxx 2009-09-30 18:41:11 Thank you for your service useyourhead.
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child AugustWest 2009-09-30 18:43:31 I'd have to say there is something odd about a person that can spell injury.
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child Texasbluestar 2009-09-30 19:04:04 Then your calling your own Al Gore odd too! Didn't he spell potato wrong! Not offended that my spelling offends you AugustWest.
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child AugustWest 2009-09-30 19:13:15 Glad to know your not offended. And it was YOUR Dan Quayle there Texasbluestar....
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-09-30 19:29:18 I know useyourhead that you think everything is about you, but I was answering all 3 of you guys in 1 comment. It is called Multitasking. Something right wing nuts can't do. Anyways NASA is not a for profit organization. Even though the Repugs like to underfund things, NASA is actually ROCKET SCIENCE. The costs are ROCKET SCIENCE. Oh yeah you wingnuts hate science. They could do things on the cheap like typical conservatives do and have it blow up on the launch or re-entry. Oh yeah that happened. 10 years, that is an odd number. Get a dishonorable? And about #5, you said: "Like social security, any government benefit eventually is taken as a "right" by the public, meaning that it's politically near impossible to remove or curtail it later on when costs get out of control". And I said find me someone who receives Social Security that doesn't want it. What don't you comprehend about my answer? And this is for el wingnut #2 Maxx, Do your research on welfare before you make inane comments. Course you are probably on welfare. Take your meds yet?
To the Editor: Latta urged to support true health care reform Texasbluestar 2009-09-30 20:22:43 THANK YOU SOCIALIST MINDED PEOPLE OF AMERICA "To be GOVERMENT INSURED is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be GOVERNED is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. To the Editor: Reform needed now Brad 2009-10-01 06:15:36 In honor of this healthcare "debate" I would like to congratulate Ted Kennedy on 31 days sober. Hey brutus, if government should take over healthcare; what shouldn't they take over? Family farms? We all gotta eat? Housing? Cars? Wait a sec, I just heard they took that over already. I can't believe that... seriously, cars??? Well, banks the most regulated industry in the world, that has to be good and safe...
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-01 07:08:19 Yawn. Ahhhhh.
To the Editor: Anthony Wayne students' behavior criticized Otsego Student 2009-10-01 08:30:59 I am a high school student at Otsego High School and am very offened by the comments posted by some of our parents. They dont like public schools pull your students OUT! I am a transfer student of another school and i would not change schools for anything. I love the school i am at and think our sportsmanship is nothing "bad" compared to other schools. I dont understand where one Otsego parent thinks that our school is "bad" or even wrong. The teachers here are BETTER then most other schools of a bigger community. SO get your facts straight.
To the Editor: Reform needed now Brad 2009-10-01 08:44:23 Again Brutus, great come back. Can't argue with that. There are 1300 insurance companies, 4 are available to me because of federal mandates. Obama wants competition, he wants to help the down trodden, they have it rough I hear. Open up competition, but not from the entity that makes the rules. One more time brutus, if government can take over health care, what can't or shouldnt they?
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-01 10:30:40 Who is Government to you Brad? We elect people to Government. I did not care for the Republican run Gov. we had the last 8 years so I worked hard to change that. I did not sit around whining and complaining like you are doing now. As far as Healthcare insurance do I want a for profit company determining who lives and who dies? No. These companies had their chance and they blew it. I would also like to see the utility companies run by we the people. And was it really necessary to insult Ted Kennedy?
95TH BIRTHDAY: Mabel Nollenberger downthePike 2009-10-01 11:43:25 Happy 95th Birthday, Mrs. Nollenberger! I truly hope you are well and happy and that you will have a wonderful celebration!
To the Editor: Anthony Wayne students' behavior criticized Also an Otsego parent 2009-10-01 12:51:24 Otsego's football loss to Anthony Wayne was a typical Friday night high school football score for them. It was nothing new or surprising. What appears to be surprising is the notion that if you are winning you are entitled to treat the losers as badly as you want. Say what you want about how awful Otsego is to watch. You have to admire a group of kids who are willing to step out on the field and keep trying. It says something about the character of a person who doesn't do something for praise or glory, and doesn't give up but keeps hoping things will get better. Otsego has had to learn how not to be sore losers in the last couple of years. To bad Anthony Wayne couldn't show what it meant to actually be a winner, becauser off the field the conduct was apparently nasty. I know several kids who went to the game and reported the same thing as Ms. King. If a Liberal Handbook is in print and speaks of respecting the rights of others, being a decent citizen, and tolerance and Ms. King is actually able to indoctrinate her students with it, what an asset she is to Otsego. I know lots of Otsego parents who'd support that message.
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child mama 2009-10-01 13:02:35 It was not an issue of her being treated before him, he was treated first, as he should have been with a head injury. And yes, she is alright, thanks brutus! This 50+ man just found pleasure in mocking a 10 year old girl. He didn't just say "something odd" about her injury, the offence was directed towards my daughter, not her injury. Regardless, you are correct, what he did was not illegal, there are no laws from keeping someone from acting like an idiot and hurting a childs feelings. Because of those freedoms you refer to, I have the right to place a letter in my newspapers public opinion section and that freedom does not come with a stipulation that you have to approve! So with all due respect Texas...shut your pie hole!
To the Editor: Reform needed now Brad 2009-10-01 15:42:07 borrowing a line from Milton friedman, I would far rather drive over a bridge built for profit than a non profit bridge. Yeah brutus, you dont seem like the whining/ complaining type. Ted was a murderer at worst and guilty of negligent homicide at best. Besides, its a good joke. If government (I mean we the people)does things better why shouldnt they take over everything? Why stop at utilities?
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-01 15:58:40 Good question. The Gov actually did take over in WWII. All machinery belong to the War Production Board. We did win WWII didn't we?
To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-01 16:51:42 Brad, don't sweat brutus. She hates logic. She is the kind of person to follow her party over a cliff. Go bake a cake brutus and leave the politics to the men.

To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-01 19:32:44 Everyone read the Safety Net for Kids article? Health care at a COUNTY level. I'm sure some coward will try and find something wrong with it.
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-01 20:51:49 You are such a loser. Where do you think the money comes from? What a loser.
To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-02 00:12:54 It's NOT GOVERNMENT RUN. We DON'T NEED GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE!!! Don't you get that coward ?
To the Editor: Reform needed now Brad 2009-10-02 05:22:04 Brutus is a chick? Huh! Hey Brutus, psst, the government doesnt have any money. They can do nothing without first taking money from someone else. And that is theft, theft is an immoral act. Some example they set... Brutus is a chick...
To the Editor: Reform needed now Maxx 2009-10-02 06:33:19 Crap, now I feel kinda bad about verbally beating up a girl with the facts. Thanks for the heads up Brad
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-02 06:53:22 Loser. Coward. Loser. Coward. Are you really that challenged? Government won't run Healthcare. Government will collect the premiums from you and I and everyone else and pay the providers of HEALTHCARE, who are private entities, instead of the insurance companies taking a cut and providing nothing. How hard is that to comprehend? 1st you whine and cry about paying for someone else's healthcare and now you whine and cry when they want everyone to pay. C'mon which is it? Everyone pay something or a few pay it all? And tell us genius where the money comes from to fund the Clinic? FROM THE PEOPLE. GOVERNMENT. THRU LEVYS AND FEDERAL FUNDING. Good lord. Pssst hey Brad your buddies Bush-Cheney have us in an immoral war in Iraq. They did it off budget and borrowed from Social Security. I know you are informationly challenged but think before you type. Does your mom and dad know you are on the "internets" Brad?

To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-02 08:12:04 I love it. Especially since you are a coward and wrong as usual. 12.6% revenue from federal govt. A program that works with out a "public option". That has to really piss you off. Go make me some coffee now.
To the Editor: Anthony Wayne students' behavior criticized a parent and a teacher 2009-10-02 08:12:07 What a shame that the actions of a few AW students has drawn so much attention. No one condones unsportsmanlike conduct. But I think is important to realize that the vast majority of the students at both schools are well-behaved respectful young people. By many peoples account, this editorial seems to contain some major exaggerations. Mrs. King did not even attend the game, so she based her words on second hand information. Many members of the AW administration and the Otsego administration have been in contact with one another, the situation has been dealt with, and everyone seems to agree that the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Editorials like this one only work to give our good schools a bad reputation. Both school districts have much to be proud of and Otsego and AW have a good relationship now and should be looking forward to a good friendly rivalry in the future.
To the Editor: Anthony Wayne students' behavior criticized also an Otesgo parent 2009-10-02 08:28:02 I'm sorry but I didnt hear anything friendly about the behavior of kids at the game and Ms. King wasn't the only one who heard how bad the actions by some were. I think the notion of well since everyone isn't doing it, it doesn't matter shouldn't be acceptable. I doubt Ms. King is making it all up to get attention and think bringing what communties consider and expect from students attending games is positive. The bad reputations come when schools are willing to ignore bad behavior from students because they are afraid it will draw attention to it or they simply allow certain students to get away with things because of who they are or where they are from. A parent and a teacher mentioned that both schools had been in contact and talked about the situation which gives Ms. King's letter some merit. They wouldn't have had the need to discuss and situation and behavior that didn't exist.

To the Editor: Reform needed now AugustWest 2009-10-02 14:00:26 I will let you guys get back to your lovefest or bromance or whatever you call it but can somebody post a link to the Safety Net for Kids article?
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-02 14:09:30 AugustWest, Go to the S-T homepage, click on news and scroll down to you see on the left a bunch of headlines. It is about 1/4 of the way down the list.
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-02 14:17:56 Sybil/useyourhead/loser/Maxx, I just got back from seeing my heroe's movie Capitalism: A Love Story by Michael Moore. Watch it if you get a chance. I don't think they will charge you for all your extra personnas since there will be only one of you physically there. Where did you get that this program pisses me off? I'm all for it. Just expand it for everyone. What's the problem? Not the question I was talking about.
To the Editor: Reform needed now AugustWest 2009-10-02 15:33:47 I just read the Safety Net article. Sounds like a great program. My question is once the patient is referred out to a specialist is that patient allowed to pay said specialist the amount they can afford like the clinic? That is the biggest issue facing Americans with no insurance, they can go to this clinic and then once diagnosed with a disease can they afford the treatments? And one important other note is that it is a "Safety Net", if a person could afford to go to a doctor they would.
To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-02 16:57:07 brutus, expand it for everyone ? You may want to reread the article or visit the Wood County Health Department's website before you make ignorant comments. "Nobody is ever turned away due to inability to pay," Smith said. Who is it not open to? And if you think the government won't run health care, then you are seriously missinformed and easily persuaded. Most cowards are. The proposed health care bill is just that, proposed, and they are already passed a tax on "sugary drinks" to help pay for health care and to lower consumption, reduce health problems and save medical costs. If it were to pass, who knows what else they will tax. They will make it illegal not to have insurance. They will impose heavy regulations. Government won't run health care?? Naive little girl.
To the Editor: Reform needed now AugustWest 2009-10-02 17:09:25 Useyourhead- Will you please stip with the attacks and answer my simple question I proposed to everybody that has posted on here. What happens to the person that goes to this clinic and then needs more care? Debating is great but when it comes down to personal attacks or jibberish on EITHER side, right or left it makes a mockery of it.
To the Editor: Reform needed now brutus 2009-10-02 17:18:58 AugustWest, It is a good program but it is not equiped to handle all the people who are actually in need of healthcare. This is where the single payer system would work. If you need a specialist you get one, no extra cost. Exactly on affording the Doctor thing. Right now with the current system Doctors are opting to become specialist because the insurance companies pay PCP (Personal Care Physicians) a much lower rate. An example would be my wife just had surgery and her Doctor billed the insurance company $1400.00 and the Doctor only received $340.00. Quite a drop. This is the biggest reason we are losing PCP. 75% of Doctors want a single payer system. A Public Option is the next best thing, but cost wise single payer would be better. Sybil/useyourhead/loser/Maxx, Are you really that effing stupid or are you off your meds again?
To the Editor: Reform needed now useyourhead 2009-10-02 17:43:19 August. I don't know what happens to a person when they are referred to a specialist in regards to how much they have to pay. I would suggest contacting WCHD for answers. As far as stopping with the attacks, curious as to why you addressed me and not others. Obviously you can read and yet chose to ignore others. Interesting. And no I will not. Another freedom I wish to keep. bruts, what can I say. When faced with reality and proven wrong, you have nothing. Freeloading government coward.

To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child mark foster 2009-10-05 04:21:29 I think it's great you called this loser out in the newspaper, if it was my daughter, it would have worked out well for him already being in the ER. Anyone that cannot effectively chop down a tree limb without it hitting them on the head is probably nothing more than a nuisance to society. And well, injurie? I guess that's about what you would expect from someone living in Ohio and having the name Texasbluestar....Another loser.
To the Editor: Man in ER room criticized for mocking injured child bggb 2009-10-05 07:29:47 The above comments show what is wrong with our children and society in general today. An adults responsibilities are not only to teach their own children but teach all children by example, weather you are a sports figure who uses drugs, a music star who fights at a concert or an injured man at the hospital who acts like a child themselves, children are watching and learning, Thanks for teaching our kids how to be an idiot.
To the Editor: Portage should have made more cuts at earlier time Tom Butters 2009-10-05 07:44:10 Numerous cuts could have been made, but were not because of poor management. Attending a Mayors Court session I once noticed 5 uniform Police Officers, one being the Chief of Police. Which clearly is not needed for misdemeanor cases ! Giving the Chief 40 hours per week is ridiculous, remember he is paid more than a patrolman. The Mayor and Chief are the problem with that town, get rid of them and it will function.
BGSU trustees increase tuition, fees by 3.5 percent BGer 2009-10-05 08:32:04 Faculty had a 0.5% increase last year, and nothing this year. Staff and administrators are taking a cut this year. I think if conditions were bad enough, faculty would agree to a cut. However, student tuition has not been increased for several years. This was not a decision that anyone likes, but I think the sacrifice is being shared equitably.
To the Editor: Minister opposes anti-discrimination ordinances jeffinohio 2009-10-05 08:35:29 Dear Reverend Rhoads, Obviously you did not get the memo about AIDS that everyone else received more than a decade ago, but I'll try to bring you up to speed. AIDS is not "caused by homosexuals and bisexuals"; it's a virus that is transmitted by direct contact with bodily fluids of an infected person, usually through sex. The chances of transmission through casual contact (like shaving or toothbrushes) are virtually nil. The CDC web site says: "HIV is not transmitted by day-to-day contact in the workplace, schools, or social settings. HIV is not transmitted through shaking hands, hugging, or a casual kiss. You cannot become infected from a toilet seat, a drinking fountain, a door knob, dishes, drinking glasses, food, or pets." Also, it may be news to you that not all gay people have AIDS. Shocking, I know, but true. Your feelings about gay people are revealed by your statement "Would you put your favorite pet into a cage with a rabid animal?" Gay people are citizens, not "rabid animals" to be discriminated against those who call themselves "Christians" but ignore the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus told us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves; you would rather rail against Sodom and Gomorrah. Perhaps you should read the New Testament sometime in addition to the Old.

To the Editor: Vote no on Issue 3 brutus 2009-10-05 11:03:45 Lynn, Do you seriously believe people don't gamble now? People go out of state in droves now taking their money with them. You can't legislate morals on people. People are going to gamble. Should we outlaw Stocks, the Lottery, Insurance companies? How about pyramid schemes like Amway and other companies.
To the Editor: Minister opposes anti-discrimination ordinances jeffinohio 2009-10-05 14:06:28 Quick edit - The third-from-last sentence of post #1 should read: Gay people are citizens, not "rabid animals" to be discriminated against *by* those who call themselves "Christians" but ignore the teachings of Jesus Christ.

To the Editor: Vote no on Issue 3 voteyes 2009-10-05 17:27:37 While I can see your point, I will be voting in favor of casinos due to the increase in revenue and jobs that our state is much in need of. 33% of the winnings will be returned to the state- most of which will in turn go to the schools.
To the Editor: Minister opposes anti-discrimination ordinances Marlene 2009-10-05 20:43:50 This is one of the most bigoted letters I have ever read in the Sentinel, and Dave Miller should be ashamed for printing this piece of crap! This letter is full of falsehoods, lies, misconceptions, malfeasance, and out and out prejudice and bigotry -- pure and simple! I guess the commandment not to bear false witness doesn't count when maligning and lying about an entire class of citizens. You want a rabid dog, bigot? Well you got one in me, and we'll see who laughs last, bigot!

To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill brutus 2009-10-06 09:25:37 I believe Congressman Latta has been DISHONORABLE with his DISCHARGE of the facts about H.R. 3200.

Portage mayor behind on taxes BGGirl 2009-10-06 09:47:32 "I forget things. I truly do," & "It's just the cost of being me." NICE quotes! Sir you need to lead by example! And to use the death of your son as an excuse is unconscionable.
Portage mayor behind on taxes Anon 2009-10-06 09:49:30 Wow... seriously? This is what people have come to? This is truly pathetic it really is. Not the fact that he is behind, the fact that people choose to publish an article about it... I think someone needs to seriously grow up.
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill useyourhead 2009-10-06 11:45:59 brutus, I'm not sure if it's the mental illness or the fact that you have the wit of a wall. Either way, it's sad. Good luck.
David Gedeon Mark Saneholtz 2009-10-06 11:55:03 Very shocked and saddened by the news, he was a great man who was always quick with a joke and raised a family to be proud of. He will be missed greatly, my prayers to the family.
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill enough 2009-10-06 13:03:02 On another response on this message board someone accurately labeled people like useyourhead. Describing them as trolls. People who make bizarre off topic comments and spewing hate filled comments to try and get respondents to get off topic and in effect ignore the issue. Hmm. useyourhead must be the lead troll. Health care is a serious issue that deserves to be debated. Why are some so afraid to let there be a debate or discussion about this issue? It makes sense to read the health care bill and not the talking points of either political party. Latta has had enough time to think about what should be done and keeps stalling and waiting for trolls like useyourhead and Beck (who before his show on Fox was complaining about the sad state of health care on his CNN show) to get us all off topic it gets him off the hook for acutally having to do anything or for that matter even think for himself.
To the Editor: Vote no on Issue 3 enough 2009-10-06 13:06:41 Meant to say dont be surprised if the state finds a way to keep most of the casino winnings too. I doubt education will benefit from it very much.
To the Editor: Minister opposes anti-discrimination ordinances enough 2009-10-06 13:20:06 AIDS is caused by a virus and isn't limited to homosexuals or bisexuals. In Africa and other parts of the world the disease is rampant among hetrosextuals. People get the virus by being human. According to the Rev, God targeted homosexuals with the disease, yet hetrosexuals are just as likely to contract the disease and it can also be found in babies who contracted it in the womb. Also, he calls us to look at the wounds of a man molested by a priest and suggest we should cast him out. The Rev has no compassion for a man who not only suffered being raped,by someone he trusted, but then gets a horrible disease and has to deal with the stigma of AIDS with people like Mr. Rhoads who have rabid minds and no compassion. I think men who claimed to love God and do his work have done enough to Mr. Savaino. Sad that the true love and compassion for such a victim can't come from a man who claims to preach God's love.
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill useyourhead 2009-10-06 13:41:35 brutus/enough "It makes sense to read the health care bill and not the talking points of either political party." I guess that doesn't apply to you and your reference to Beck. Just because Latta doesn't share your point of view, doesn't mean he isn't doing anything. He is doing what the people of the 5th district desire. We are the ones that voted him in, remember? As far as your reference to me being a "troll". I guess if you agree with people (like yourself) that make bizarre off topic comments and spewing hate filled comments to try and get respondents to get off topic and in effect ignore the issue, then that's alright? Great job Mr. Latta. I'm curious enough. Have you read the entire H.R 3200?
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill useyourhead 2009-10-06 14:04:54 The president repeated his promise that his plan won’t add “one dime” to the federal deficit. But legislation offered so far would add hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Those of us with health insurance are also paying a hidden and growing tax for those without it – about $1,000 per year that pays for somebody else’s emergency room and charitable care. The figure is not supported by the Kaiser Family Foundation or the Congressional Budget Office. Both have reported that uncompensated care actually leads to lower hospital profits, not higher premiums. KFF’s estimate of the amount of uncompensated care shifted to premium-payers works out to about $200 per family per year, not $1,000. Obama's heart felt stories about 2 individuals that had their insurance polcies cancelled and died becuase of it,were later determined to be false as well. No one died Obama is as bad as a used car salesman with the lies.
Portage mayor behind on taxes Tom Butters 2009-10-06 14:30:08 So, your blaming the publisher for an incompetent elected official. If anyone in that town needs to grow up it would be your Mayor! Lose the goofy shirt, get a hair cut and look respectable, then pay your bills and take care of your court cases. When all that difficult "Grown Up" stuff is completed, run for Mayor.
To the Editor: Minister opposes anti-discrimination ordinances Penguin 2009-10-06 15:08:07 In my eyes you are not a man of God. You should join the likes of Focus on the family and Rush Limbaugh. You'll fit in well there, but certainly not in the house of God. One other thing the next time you write about AIDS have your facts straight. My friend died of AIDS and she was a happily married woman who contracted it from her husband. Your letter is old school. Maybe your a patient of Doctor Miller. Does he go to your church?
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill brutus 2009-10-06 15:31:49 I agree Enough. Did you notice he did not mention the Harvard study where 45,000 Americans die annually because of the lack of health coverage. Link: http://harvardscience.harvard.edu/medicine-health/articles/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-lack-health-coverage. Yeah so instead of 2 it is 45,000. He would rather nit pick. Nor did he tell you that the Kaiser study was based on individuals and not a family like Families USA's estimate which the President used. That’s close to Families USA’s estimate of the average cost to insured singles. Kaiser didn’t give a per-family estimate, but a $350 per person cost is generally consistent with a cost of $1,000 per family. And there is no final legislation so cost is a mute point until then.
To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill AugustWest 2009-10-06 15:50:36 Where oh where was all the outrage when GWB lied? Weapons of Mass Destruction? useyourhead and yes I am directing this to you. You obviously don't like Obama and that is fine but to call a man a liar with out the facts to back it up is offensive. We have the facts that Bush lied and thousands died. Please provide to the "panel" on this website the proof that the two people that Obama said died because their insurance was cancelled is a lie and I will be more than happy to take into consideration your viewpoints.

To the Editor: Writer should read health care bill useyourhead 2009-10-06 17:35:55 brutus, you agree with enough? That would make you a "troll". hmmmm. I didn't mention the harvard study and you didn't mention Obama's lies. People die every year due to lack of or poor health care. People choose not to have health care, people are too proud to ask for help or don't know where to get help. With a public option, it's still going to happen. Other options need to be explored before such a drastic measure is taken. Harvard (liberal) research with federal grant money published by PNHP which is for a public option. Sounds biased. august, This isn't about not liking Obama. It's about the mistake that is being proposed and the manner in which it is being proposed. GWB is gone, get over that. Yes he was wrong, yes he lied, now what? Do we need to keep beating a dead horse? Guess what. Obama lied too. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/heartbreaking-wrong-and-not-quite-accurate-.html Read the article if you want or just scroll down to the videos of Peggy Raddatz and Robin Beaton.
