LUCKEY – The auxiliary met March 5 with 12 members present. This was the first meeting held in three
months due to weather cancellations in January and February, so much business was conducted.
Membership chairperson Ruth Peters reported the unit is at 87.4 percent of goal with more to send in.
The Past Presidents will host a Poppy Potluck and Workshop on Wednesday, March 26 at 10 a.m. All legion
and auxiliary members are welcome.
Community Service Chairperson Maxine Cross said she has collected over 300 pairs of eye glasses.
Americanism Chairperson Kate Shaffer reported Girls State interviews are scheduled.
The legion hall passed the recent Health Department inspection.
Thank-you notes were received from the families of Isabelle Helm and Dorothy Schmeltz, and Hospice of
Northwest Ohio for memorials sent by the unit.
Unit members signed and sent Christmas cards overseas for active military personnel and to the Sandusky
Veterans Home. Becky Dippman reported 116 children visited Santa at the legion.
Shirley Davis and Rosemarie Heilman reported on March 1 Spring Conference.
The District Summer Convention will be held June 7. Department Convention is July 11-12 in Cincinnati.

President Betty Briggs asked that members plan to stay after the April 2 meeting to repair the 2014
poppies. The adhesive on the tags let loose and they need repair. Everyone should bring either Scotch
Tape, glue stick, a small stapler, doubled-sided tape, or scrapbook adhesive.
Poppy Day at Walmart in Perrysburg is scheduled for May 17.
New members are asked to attend the May 7 meeting so they can be initiated.
The May and June meeting times are changed to 9:30 a.m.
