PEMBERVILLE - The May 1 unit meeting was led by Gwen Schroeder-Zulch.

Anne Michel is in charge of the annual Poppy Day poster contest at Pemberville Elementary. Prizes will be awarded.

Members and friends were sent cards for deaths, surgeries and get-well wishes. The $500 Past President Scholarship was given in the memory of Mary Kohring.

Eastwood sixth-graders visited the three Pemberville cemeteries to place markers on legion and auxiliary members' graves. The students were then treated to a pizza lunch at the legion hall.

The Karen Williams benefit, slated for Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., will be a chili, salad and dessert donation meal. Raffle tickets for prizes will be sold. Members are asked to donate a salad or dessert to be brought to the legion hall any time that afternoon.
