receive the legion newsletter by mail is to call the legion hall to request it, or they can receive the
newsletter by email by sending their email address to [email protected].
Pies are needed for the legion fish fries, tonight and April 21. Anyone wishing to donate a pie or two,
bring them to the hall by 2 p.m. Fish fry serving hours are 4:30 – 7 p.m.
Seven girls were interviewed for Buckeye Girls State. Selected to attend are Elena Kirkbride, Morgan Getz
and Megan Purny. The girls will attend the week-long simulation of how the government functions, at Mt.
Union University in Alliance, then come to an auxiliary meeting in the summer and describe their
experience at Girls State. Zac Boyer, Zack Jacoby and Tyler McClory will be attending Buckeye Boys State
at Bowling Green State University in June.
Miss Poppy will be Shealin Rae Schmeltz, 6, granddaughter of Denise Conrad. A Poppy chairman is needed to
replace Gwen Schroeder-Zulch and to organize workers for the day. If interested, call the legion hall
office, 419-287-4000. To date, 26 juniors have paid membership dues.

sew quilts to be given to soldiers as they come back to the U.S. from overseas tours. Kay Brueggemeier
suggested giving the Quilting Eagles a $100 Visa card to be used for gas when they travel to find
