PEMBERVILLE – The auxiliary’s Dec. 6 Christmas party was held at the Higher Grounds Coffee Shop.
Fourteen members were present for the meal, at which new member Julia Zeek was welcomed.
The ALA Department Mid-Winter Conference will be held Jan. 17-18 in Columbus. Anyone who wishes to attend
is to contact Denise Conrad.
A monetary donation was received from Larry Witker for postage to send boxes to the troops overseas.
Thank you notes were received from the legion and the Department of Ohio Buckeye Girls State Endowment.
Girls State will again be held at Mount Union in June.
The auxiliary will remember area families through either a monetary act or the gift of clothes or
household items. Zoey Schroeder, junior member, is making shoe boxes for battered women.
Twenty more dues are needed for the unit to meet its membership goal. Send dues to Carolyn Borcherding,
Reese Road, Pemberville.
After the meal and brief meeting the members played bingo. Neck scarves, made by Kay Brueggemeier, were
given to each member.
The next meeting will be Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. at the legion hall.
