Friendly Town and Country Garden Club
The Haskins-based club met Dec. 13 at noon in the home of Cathy Nelson, Pine Valley Drive.
The luncheon of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and scalloped corn was prepared by the hostess.
Members present were Ruth Ann Beaverson, Darlene Bihn, Dorothy Cromley, Karen Dauer, Gloria Green, Diane Guthrie, Danilda Lee, Cathy Nelson, Marge Richendollar, Carole Rives, Judy Torres, Patsy Vogelsong, and one guest, Betty Wenig.
Rives presented each member an oak framed picture of the members attending the November Tea Party at Otsego Park.
After the meeting each of the members made a fresh flower centerpiece, or a fresh wreath. A small gift exchange was held.
The next meeting will be Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the Vogelsong home on Cross Creek Road. The group will be making chocolate chip cookies.
Mid Morning Belles
PEMBERVILLE - The group met Dec. 5 at the Pemberville Library for its Christmas party and gift exchange, with 12 members present.
Wilma Rolf opened the meeting with a reading about the true meaning behind the 12 Days of Christmas song. The club played games provided by Carolyn Borcherding.
White elephant gifts were passed outt.
The meal was provided by Cathy Bockbrader Catering. After the lunch the group exchanged Christmas gifts and then played Squirrelee Bridge.
The new officers are Borcherding, senior councilor; Mickey Gerwin, junior councilor; Gayleen Smith, secretary-treasurer; and Eloise Reitzel, reporter-historian.
The next meeting will be Jan. 16. Members will be notified of the time and place.
