Mary Tonjes, vice president of Alpha Zeta Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi International conducted the
March 11 business meeting at the Bowling Green Country Club with five members present.
Linda Harden read city council minutes from December and March. The next council meeting will be a double
council and election of officers will be held.
Tonjes received information from International regarding several members who are eligible to receive the
next degree, Torch Bearer. Tonjes will notify Ruah Buckingham, City Council vice president.
The rituals will be held at Founder’s Day on April 27.
The members thanked the social committee for the Christmas Party and for the past two socials held in
January and February. The next social will be Saturday, March 29 at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo. The
time will be determined at the next business meeting.
The Service Committee elected to send money to First Step for Easter. Vicki Harris will send a check
closer to Easter.
Betty Goodman suggested that the checking account for the chapter be done online in the future to avoid
paying a service charge. All agreed.
Harden presented the program, Titanic Myths. One regarded the number of passengers in each boat and
another regarded the band playing "Nearer My God To Thee." A short discussion followed.
The next business meeting will be March 25 at the Bowling Green Country Club.
