Lybarger-Grimm Legion Unit 441TONTOGANY – Patti Wires opened the Nov. 6 auxiliary meeting, with
six members present. Rita Euler offered prayer.2014 membership dues are still being accepted. Send dues to
Wires at P.O. Box 153, Tontogany, OH 43565. Call her at (419) 823-4233. Paid dues are currently at 81; goal
is 117.Arthur Eagleson’s family sent a donation for the funeral dinner served.A sympathy card will be sent
to Phyllis Johnston for her brother’s passing.On Nov. 20 members will pack boxes for the troops at 6 p.m.
Chili and chicken sandwiches will be served afterwards.The unit Christmas party will be held Dec. 18, with a
potluck 6:15 p.m. In place of exchanging gifts, members will bring a $5 cash gift and/or items to be sent to
the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.Wires and Euler visited 12 members in nursing homes on Nov. 1, delivering
treats and dues cards.Gage Pauff graduated from Marine basic training and is at Camp LeJeune, awaiting
assignment. He is the son of Joanna Creel Meadows and Thomas Pauff and grandson of auxiliary member Myra
Richard Creel and Daniel Creel and Marlene Pauff.The next unit meeting will be held Dec. 4.Troy-Webster
Legion AuxiliaryLUCKEY – President Betty Briggs opened the Nov. 6 auxiliary meeting with 14 members
present.The Americanism chairman said Luckey Elementary grades K-2 will present a program on the American
flag in February.The VA& R chairman requested that all kinds of unsigned greeting cards are welcome
at the Sandusky home.Members are to list their volunteer hours for veterans on a sign-up sheet.Shirley Davis
reported that the auxiliary has reached 65.7 percent of membership goal and that 7029 coupons were mailed to
servicemen and women.Education Chairman Eloise Brinker’s daughter works with immigrants studying to be
citizens and asked if this activity should be included in the education program.Shirley Rothenbuhler,
legislative chairman, reported on a Sentinel-Tribune article regarding House Bill 203.Eastwood After Prom
committee is selling poinsettias. Orders must be in by Nov. 22. Pick-up is Dec. 6 at the Eagle’s Nest.Santa
will be at the legion hall Dec. 16 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Santa Bags were made for wrapping packages for Santa
Shops.Poppies will be ordered and sent to Ruth Peters.Davis, Rosemarie Heilman and Peters gave School of
Instruction reports. District Mid-Winter Conference is Jan. 18-19 in Columbus.Veteran’s Appreciation brown
bag luncheon will be Nov. 20 from 11:30-1:30 on the second floor of Toledo VA Clinic.The next auxiliary
meeting will be Dec. 4. In lieu of exchanging gifts, each member should bring paper products for the Food
Pantry.
