GRAND RAPIDS - The Sept. 6 meeting was opened by President Tracy Bostelman with seven members present.
Membership applications were approved for Natalie Lambert and junior Rheya Holgrefe.
Buckeye Girls State delegates will give reports at the Nov. 7 meeting.
Thank you notes were read from the family of Virginia Walerius and from Marisa DiBartolomeo, Girls Stater.
The Department School of Instruction is Sept. 20 and 21 at Deer Creek Lodge. Fall conference will be held Oct. 5 at the Holland post, with registration at 8:30 a.m.
As a money-making project, the unit will raffle off a basket of goodies in October with the winner to be drawn in November.
The unit voted to donate $15 for wreaths to be put out at Arlington Cemetery at Christmas.
Payments were made to: American Legion Child Welfare, $15; Mae Schlotz and Karen Dress, $21 each for driving to summer conference and lunch; Gloria Kutchenritter, $63 for Bloodmobile; Sara Gamby, $250 for hall cleaning; American Professional Landscape, $240; and ALA Department of Ohio, $30 for dues.
The next post fish fry is Sept. 20. The price: $10 for all the fish you can eat.
The next auxiliary meeting will be Oct. 3.
