LUCKEY - Commander Bill Compton welcomed Troy-Webster American Legion and Auxiliary members to the annual Potluck Dinner held July 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Luckey American Legion Hall. Guests were the Buckeye Boys and Girls State delegates and their families.
The Star Spangled Banner was sung, accompanied by Marsha Nelson on the piano. Bob Hickok, chaplain, offered table prayer prior to the dinner. Delegates to Boys and Girls State were introduced by Ray Humbarger for the legion and by Kate Shaffer for the auxiliary. Each of the delegates gave reports and comments.
The gathering was closed with prayer and singing of "God Bless America."
President Betty Briggs then called the auxiliary meeting to order, with 18 members present.
The charter was draped in memory of deceased member Irene E. Michel.
There will be a rummage sale at the legion hall during the Luckey Fall Festival, Sept. 27 and 28.
Times, dates and cost for the Sandpiper Cruise will be published in the August newsletter. The cruise is to be a money maker for the auxiliary. Bring your friends for a fun evening on the Maumee River.
There will be no auxiliary meeting in August. The next meeting will be held Sept. 4 at 9 a.m.
