GRAND RAPIDS - President Tracy Bostelman opened the May 2 unit meeting with 10 members present.
Karen Dress told about a Walk-a-Thon at the new VA Clinic to benefit homeless veterans.
The next Honor Flight is May 22.
A membership application for Tina Noble was approved.
Linda Donald has received $1,623 for poppy letters. Bills paid were $105 to Donald for poppy letters and envelopes; $75 in poppy mailing postage; $68 in ALA Department of Ohio dues; and $39 to Gloria Kutchenriter for the Bloodmobile.
The unit donated $50 to Paul Sill for his Walk For Life relay.
Buckeye Girls State is June 16-21 at Mt. Union.
Sidle ALA hosted County Council on May 6 and members furnished cookies for dessert.
Thank you notes were read from Mary Frazier, the food pantry, the family of Keith Treen, and Kris Thomas.
Members will meet at the Methodist Church May 26 at 9 a.m. for Memorial Weekend services.
Summer conference is June 8 at Murback Post 475, Swanton. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., with the meeting at 9:30. Guest speaker will be Department President Karen Peel. Lunch is $6. Reservations are due to Linda West at (419) 825-5620 by May 26.
Other dates to remember: post fish fries on May 17, June 21 and July 19, each from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $9 per person. There will be no August fish fry.
