Shakespeare Round Table
Sixteen members of the Shakespeare Round Table held their Spring Social, a banquet, at SamB's Restaurant on Tuesday, April 16.
Also present were two associate members and their husbands, Connie and Glenn Varney, and Catherine and John Mekus.
President Kathy East thanked committee chairperson Nadine Edwards and members Judy Boutelle, Dawn Glanz, Elaine McEwen, and Diane Vogtsberger for planning the social at the end of the study year. Books on Shakespeare donated by the members of the Shakespeare Round Table were on display.
The Fermatas, a select ensemble of 15 women affiliated with the Bowling Green State University Women's Chorus, entertained the group with a variety of advanced repertoire for women's voices. The music ranged in style from classical to vocal jazz and folk traditions. The ensemble included freshman through seniors majoring in a variety of subject areas including music performance and education.
The Fermatas group was under the direction of graduate student Jessica Allen. The word fermatas is defined "as sustaining of a note, chord or rest for a duration longer than the indicated time value."
