Shakespeare Round Table
President Kathy East welcomed 15 members of the Shakespeare Round Table on Feb. 19 in the community room at the Wood County District Public Library.
Associate members Catherine Mekus and Connie Varney attended the afternoon social. After tea and dessert, program committee chairperson Diane Votgsberger introduced Edna Clemens who gave a short report about Shakespeare's Sonnets. The theme of the 154 Shakespeare's Sonnets is love and the sonnets are written to be read in order.
Then each member had one of Shakespeare's Sonnets to analyze and to present to the group.
President East thanked the social committee chairperson, Becky Hansen, and members Kay Heffernan, Dinah Vincent, Patti Rish and Helene Weinberger. On display for the members to peruse were the books that the group had purchased for the WCDPL in memory of associate members Mildred Harms and Dorothy Allen.
