Friendly Town and Country Garden Club
The Haskins-based club met Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the home of Dorothy Cromley, Bishop Road, BG. There were nine members present.
The hostess served valentine cookies, oatmeal cookies and pretzels.
Celebrating February birthdays were Cromley, Karen Dauer, and Marvella Enright.
President Carole Rives held a short business meeting, after which she presented a valentine shaped brownie to each member.
Floral arrangements were brought in by members to be evaluated by Cathy Nelson, as to what the Wood County Fair judges will be looking for in judging the arrangement.
Laura Nelson also made two arrangements to demonstrate how to make floral arrangements. She presented one of the arrangements to Rives for her January birthday, and the second to Dauer for her February birthday.
Also at the meeting, in addition to those listed above, were Marge Richendollar, Judy Torres and Patsy Vogelsong.
The club celebrated the birthday of Enright on Feb. 7 at Wood Haven Care Center, where she resides. Members of her family were present. Gloria Green, a sister, provided an orange cake and nuts.
A floral designing class will be held at Delta Church of Christ on March 13 at 9:30 a.m.
The next club meeting will be held March 14 at 1:30 in the home of Danilda Lee on Boone Court, Bowling Green.
