Troy Webster Legion Auxiliary
LUCKEY - The Feb. 6 meeting was opened by President Rosemarie Heilman, with 13 members present. There was no meeting in January, due to inclement weather.
Chaplain Irene Michel led the prayer, and pianist Marcia Nelson accompanied the "Star Spangled Banner."
Thank you notes were received from: Louis Stokes Hospital, Cleveland; Ohio Veterans home, Sandusky, for lap robes and toiletries; Veterans Affairs of Ann Arbor for clothing, cookies, monetary donation, candy and afghans; The Loft; Wood County Committee on Aging for monetary donation; and from three veterans who received lap robes.
The charter was draped for Mary McClain and Kathleen Romaker.
This unit will send four delegates to Buckeye Girls State: two from unit funds and two from memorials.
An appreciation dinner will be held at the Luckey legion hall this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. for legion, auxiliary, Juniors, SAL members and all spouses.
First District conference is Sunday at the Adams Township Post home. Poppy Day will be May 11.
First District President Joyce Schmeltz will be a guest at the April 3 auxiliary meeting.
Dorothy Daman volunteered to be on the nominating committee; one other person is needed.
Due to Lent, the next meeting will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Members will work on poppy bouquets to be put on cemetery graves for Memorial Day.
