Mid Morning Belles
NEW ROCHESTER - The Mid Morning Belles met Jan. 23 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mickey Gerwin and Lois Hansen served cookies and coffee.
Carolyn Borcherding opened the meeting with an article about the history and uses of apples and ended with a reading, "Apple of Your Eye."
Eleven members were present and answered the roll call by naming a favorite pastime on a winter's day.
Following the business meeting, the members knotted a quilt assembled by Gerwin, which will be given to the Cocoon Shelter, as well as two more quilts to be given to Lutheran World Relief by St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The next meeting will be held Feb. 19 at the Browning Masonic Center, Waterville, for a breakfast and a program titled "Richly Dressed and Handsome in Appearance."
