Friendly Town and Country Garden Club
The Haskins club held this month’s meeting on Jan. 10 at 12 p.m. in the home of Patsy Vogelsong, Cross Creek Road.
Also present were Darlene Bihn, Dorothy Cromley, Karen Dauer, Gloria Green, Diane Guthrie, Danilda Lee, Marge Richendollar and Carole Rives, each of whom brought ingredients to be used for making chocolate chip cookies.
President Rives led a short business meeting. She was celebrating a January birthday,
The hostess served hors d’ oeuvres of summer sausage, ham, crackers and cheese, along with warm homemade cookies.
After the meeting, hostess Vogelsong mixed all the ingredients for the cookies, and then baked them. Each member took home some of the cookies to share with their families.
The next outing for the members will be Feb. 7 at Wood Haven Care Center, Bowling Green. Member Marvella Enright, a Wood Haven resident, will celebrate her 88th birthday. Gloria Green, sister of Marvella, will make the cake and serve as hostess. Birthday cards are always appreciated.
The next meeting will be held Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the home of Dorothy Cromley, Bishop Road, Bowling Green. Members will have the opportunity to bring their own floral arrangements, to be evaluated by Cathy Nelson. She will discuss how the arrangement would be judged at a flower show.
