Pemberville Mental Culture Club
PEMBERVILLE - 21 members of the Mental Culture Club and their guests enjoyed a fine dinner and conversation at Dyer's Family Dinning restaurant in Bowling Green April 10.
Hostesses Karen Schultz and Penny Truman introduced the evening's entertainment, the Hot Flashes, from Pemberville.  The group sang hit songs from the 1950s and '60s in close harmony.  But it was the Hot Flashes' witty running commentary that made the evening so fun.
Mary Kuhlman will host the next meeting on May 8.

The April 17 chapter meeting was preceded by a 6:30 dinner prepared by Denise Zephier.
Theme information given by Worthy Matron Robyn Moellenberg told of the construction of the Washington Monument. Started as early as 1783, plans evolved from an equestrian statue to a tomb and finally to the obelisk we see today. The monument opened to the public in 1888, more than 100 years from inception.
A brief memorial service was held for Brenda Shepherd who was initiated April 7, 1981 and for Frances Newby who was initiated in Stuttgart, Germany in 1958.  She transferred her membership to Greenwood in 1959.
Penny Wymer was chosen to serve a three-year term on the Audit Committee.
