The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio has presented Cynthia Roepke with its 2013 John Goerlich Distinguished
Service Award.
In 1984, the Board of Trustees of The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio created the award to be given
annually to a person who has served the blind and visually impaired community unselfishly. It is named
for John Goerlich whose substantial philanthropic contributions have allowed The Sight Center to
flourish for many years.
Roepke has been involved with and serving those with a vision impairment for a number of years. She
served on The Sight Center Board of Trustees for nine years, the last two as board chair. After her
board term, she remained active with The Sight Center by establishing the Planned Giving Advisory
Council.
Roepke is also an advocate for several other non-profit organizations, such as Friends of Russian
Orphans, The Daughter Project and Food For Thought. She is a member of the Toledo Area Estate Planning
Council, the Financial Planning Association and Zonta (an international women’s service organization).

She has been employed with Fifth Third Bank for 11 years as a wealth management advisor.
