Brandon Hawkins, the third-leading scorer in the North American (Junior) Hockey League, has
verbally committed to play collegiately at Bowling Green.The 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward has 24 goals and
19 assists in 37 games for the Texas Tornado. He’s from Macomb, Mich. and turns 19 in April.Hawkins, who
leads the NAHL in goals, most likely will join the Falcons for the 2013-14 or 2014-15 season. He still has
two seasons of junior hockey eligibility left after this season.He also has nine power-play goals, 34
penalty minutes and an on-ice rating of plus-16Under NCAA rules, Bergeron can’t comment on Hawkins until
he’s signed his national letter of intent.
