Bowling Green goalie Andrew Hammond will dress for this weekend’s series at Notre Dame, Falcon hockey coach Chris Bergeron said Thursday.
Hammond will practice Friday morning at Notre Dame. A decision on BG’s starting goalie for Friday’s game then will be made after that practice. The teams play Friday and Saturday.
The senior standout has missed the last six games with a knee injury suffered in practice Feb. 6.
“He saw enough practice time towards the end of the week that he and our staff feel confident in him dressing this weekend,” Bergeron said. “We will skate (Friday) and pick our starter from there.”
The series at Notre Dame finishes the regular season. The Falcons begin CCHA playoff action March 8.
BG enters the weekend seventh in the league, but it can still finish as high as sixth and as low as ninth. The sixth-, seventh- and eighth-place teams host first-round series.
A sweep of  Notre Dame would clinch sixth place for BG, while one regulation or overtime win would clinch home ice in the first round.
The best-of-3 first-round series are March 8-9-10.
